Yale 2015 SCEA Hopefuls

Yeah, but I’m in that upper-middle income range where there’s no way we can afford to pay $40k a year to send me to school, but we still have enough income to not qualify for the largest packages. I already have a brother paying almost full tuition at a state school, though, so hopefully that’ll get taken into account.

Having more than one kid in college is definitely considered fgsfds. Good luck

If I can get in, I will ask for a new (blue) wardrobe.

@fgsfds- why thank you. I wanted to put “teapot.worshipper” but CC wouldn’t let me.

@immaninjaforreal, fgsfds: haha, that was HUGE at my school in like 8th grade. I still do it sometimes for fun. ;)

YES, I’m taking Latin (AP Virgil). And I’m also at a public school. Public schools offering Latin ftw. :D

Illud est verum, futatrix!

Hey guys! So I’ve basically been creeping on this thread but never really felt the need to post, but I need some fellow SCEA-ers’ opinions. On the Commonapp, I marked yes to the box that said “Do you intend to apply for need based financial aid”. I don’t think my family will qualify, but my dad wanted to do it anyway. He said he was going to fill out all the CSS Profile, and I told him it was due Nov 1. He told me this week that work got busy and he never got around to it. He doesn’t seem to mind, but I’m worried this could have a negative impact on my app. Thoughts? I’m in minor freak out mode.

Don’t worry about it! It won’t affect your application at all.
I’m applying for Fin Aid as well ( if I get in ) but my family hasn’t sent the CSS profile yet or anything. They’ll accept it later.

you guys nervous? we’re so closeeee, our lives may be changed forever on dec 15

True that! ^^

Yeah… but I have an excellent back up, so I’m not super nervous.

I am really really really nervous. I have back ups too but Yale is the only place I will be able to do my sport, and I’m not ready to stop yet… it’s so scary. Reality comes in T-11.63 days.

What’s your sport???

Gymnastics  And with the incredibly small amount of schools which have gymnastics teams, narrowed even further when you look at those with excellent academics (which is my first priority) since most are large state schools, that leaves me with Yale. I also am not AMAZING so the places I can go is limited there to. After lots of visits and deliberation, I’ve happened to be left with Yale as my single school I would be continuing gymnastics. It would be a major major lifestyle change if I were to stop. I know I’ll be okay, regardless though… in the long run at least ;)*

Gymnastics? You are a ninja for real.

uraninjaforreal

lol, yeah basically. That’s the idea.

I’m just kidding, my friends made the name for me, it’s taken from things they always say.it didn’t even start from me doing gymnastics. But sure :)

Wow! I’ve always found gymnastics fascinating. I play basketball. Love it! I didn’t apply as a recruit because I wasn’t sure how much time I want to spend on it, but I definitely want to play in college. Giving up a sport is a HUGE change.

I think I’d just do intramural sports. I love XC and tennis, but I don’t think I’m good enough in either to continue in college.

Any serious/not-so-serious bowlers here? I’d need signatures to start a club.
