Any Tolkien fan here? I want to watch Hobbit in peace on 17th.

@minastirith me too!!!
I might go to the midnight screening :D

@razaza HA, someone commented on our prank-planning post to watch out for red and white signs.

I’m alternating between video games, running, and laying on my bed listening to Riptide or Stolen Dance on loop thinking about Tuesday.

2 days left. :o

2 many days left

Hi everyone! Good luck to all of you, I hope we’ll all get to know each other soon!
1 day 23 hours and 49 minutes to go!

I retired the idea of waiting a day but I think I’m going to sleep from like 4 to 6 then check. So much better than waiting for a crashed portal to open (while I freak out).

Haha I wish I was patient enough to do that. I’d probably lay down for 2 minutes, get up, and then spend the evening refreshing the page.

@gentoo - I see what you did there. 8->

I plan to do the same. I’ll probably fall asleep when I get home from school on Tuesday (I’ll make sure of it by staying up really late tomorrow night), and then wake up whenever in hopes that it’s after 5pm. Or, I might end up staying after school on Tuesday really late, and since there’s no way I would ever check at school, I would check after 5 when I got home. Checking at 5 will just raise the intensity of the situation and make my potential (realistic) disappointment so much worse.

I’m trying so hard to balance optimism and realism at this point. I know that I have to stay hopeful, but the odds are just so slim. On the other hand, somebody has to get in. Why not us? Hopefully on Tuesday, everyone here gets to hear the singing bulldog. Although that will most likely not be the case, can’t blame a kid for hoping.

Agreed^^^^^^^^^^^^ that was very articulate. The realist in me is speculating every part of my application and finding reasons for rejection while the optimist in me is thinking of the holistic process and how there are always imperfect candidates such as myself who are accepted every year.

Agree as well ^^^ - Finding a balance of optimism and realism is exactly what I am trying to do. It’s hard to try to suppress my optimism though.

I have two big tests and an in-class essay on Tuesday, and I’m actually grateful it’ll take my mind off decisions…unless I’m too distracted.

I’m on mountain time, so my decisions come out at 3pm. I don’t have to go to fourth period (it’s the last period because we’re on block schedule), so I’m just coming home at 1-ish and going on a really, really long run to calm my nerves before the decisions are release.

I just cancelled my dance class that evening because I will be a hot mess. All I can do at this point is to hope for the best.

I have tennis from 4-5. I’ll be playing even worse than I normally do.

I used to have MUN on Tuesdays and Mondays but now I have it on Mondays only so I’m alright.

I’m not too terrified; I’m well aware of how awfully slim my chances are. I’m working the night decisions come out, so I’ll probably check Wednesday morning.
