Yale Class of 2020 applicants

i’m actually conflicted between about 4-5 different majors im really interested in haha… someone who is really knowledgeable about yale pm me?

Just looked at Harvard’s stats for SCEA: they rejected 7.7%, deferred 77%, and accepted 15% of applicants (I took out the ones who withdrew/submitted incomplete applications). http://www.thecrimson.com/article/2015/12/11/early-action-class-2020/

I think we should be glad that less of us have to face this uncertainty.

does anyone else find it weird they haven’t emailed us? did they only email admitted students or did I just miss the email?

Accepted.
I know this sounds hypocritical, but to those deferred or rejected, please remember that this process is far from over. You will all be accepted to amazing places in the regular round.

@16elir No email here either but I was deferred so that could be the case.

Yes, I want to find out as well. For those of you who got accepted, did you all receive an email prior to 5:00 to remind you to check Yale portal?

For those who got deferred or rejected, did you also get an email prior to 5:00pm?

I never received an email and I was deferred.

Accepted, no email

My DD was accepted. As of 2pm CA time she had not received an e-mail. So, she logged on to the portal and found out about her decision with the singing Bulldogs.
Note: She was a LL recipient.

I recieved the email at 5:16. Most likely because I still had not checked my portal by then.

Hi everyone. I was deferred from Yale SCEA, so I decided to create this thread for those of us who will be considered in the regular pool. I look forward to getting to know all of you!

I only asked because the first few posts were deferrals so I thought maybe Yale was releasing emails in waves based on decisions, which would give me an idea of what decision to expect. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Btw, still haven’t checked yet.

Okay the admins merged the RD thread I created for us deferred applicants. I don’t understand why? I created the thread because I didn’t want already accepted/rejected applicants to get bombarded with notifications leading up to March 31st.

I was deferred, and I received the email around 5:08 PM.

Hey guys. I’m from Vietnam and I got deferred
I am writing a book and i wanted to send it to Yale. How am I supposed to do that?
And how can I update my information too?? The EC, SAT score, by contact directly to Admission Office by phone, mail???
Any help??
Come on guys. Do our best so if we get rejected, we won’t regret anything

@zacle1234 You can send updates to the admissions office from your portal

~going to reply to a bunch of people here~

@kuriosmind did they delete all of the posts on the other thread?

@6alibah check!!! idk how you’ve been able to survive these past 5 hours without knowing.

@Xboxgamergirl sorry I would hate if someone asked me this but have you checked yet? I’m crossing my fingers for you…

@glasshours I find it so weird that they emailed some people but not others…

@kurious- Maybe because both, deferred & RD applicants’ next target date is 3/31/16 and most likely what will be discussed applies to both groups of applicants.

I have zero chances at Yale, I would honestly be beyond grateful to even receive a deferral. I want to be able to sleep off the bad news.
