AIEEEE! I have an interview! Whoo whoo, whoo whoo…my parents are going to hate it. They have to drive like three hours there and back on an odd day of the week. Whatev. I am so stoked.

I sent in my app online 10/31 and got an email today also

do alumni interviewers contact you by phone or mail?

i was contacted by email, one of my friends was contacted on the phone

I was contacted today (Tuesday) for an alumni interview and I submitted my app on Oct 31.

I’m going for an oncampus interview tomorrow though (AHHH!!!) What kinds of questions do they ask? I’ve interviewed before, but I know this is evaluative and I really want to make a good impression. Hints/tips/advice?

So this is where sending the application in on paper means a slow reply…

Ahh I submitted my app on 10/2 and still haven’t been contacted for an alumni interview…should I call the admissions office or something? I do live in Westchester County, New York, where a high proportion of seniors are probably applying to Yale. Hmm…anyway IWTGTGSS9 I have an on-campus interview tomorrow toO!! what time is yours? Mine is at 9:00 am

wow u submitted early.

CooL! Actually I lied–I’m going tomorrow for my overnight, but my interview is in the afternoon on Thursday. Good luck!! (are you doing an overnight?) I have NO idea waht to expect–this is my first overnight

I’m actually not doing an overnight…I should have scheduled one but then again I spent a month at Yale this summer for JSA so I already know what the dorms are like and stuff. Best of luck on your interview and have fun on your overnight!!!

KStern… yeah I mailed in my app on about the 25th or 26th and I haven’t heard a peep from the admissions office. People who submitted their apps on Nov 1 at like 11:59 have heard back before me. Curse the paper application!

I also suggest that beginning Nov 15 we begin a countdown thread. Which is basically this thread, count down style. Itll be a blast. :)

haha yea i’m down with that

sounds like a plan. waiting sucks. bleh.

does anyone have a scan of what the Yale acceptance letter looks like? That’ll prolly calm my nerves :)

jli2006 - I’m a junior in high school now and definitely want to do the JSA summer program at yale… how was your experience there?

anyutachka- it was amazing!!! I absolutely loved the program, it was a great deal of work (8 hrs/day just in classes) but you get to meet such amazing people, make fun of the dumb kids in the Explo camp, become very very knoweldgeable on current events and, depending on the class you take, either constitutional law or American gov’t. Other pluses are you get to stay in Timothy Dwight (one of the bigger, nicer residential colleges), you get to use the Sterling Memorial Library, and the huuuge gym. If you do go next summer, let me know so we can talk about it some more!

I was finally contacted for an alumni interview!!!

now i don’t have to worry that they never got my app.

Thanks so much for replying so quickly! I was soo excited about this program and hearing your description of it… I can’t wait to go! I will definitely let you know about how everything goes next summer! And good luck on getting into Yale… I love this website because its so great to see such ambitious people who have as much Yale spirit as I do… I guess I should say I have as much Yale spirit as you guys since I’m younger :)

hey i just received my Eli pin and account in the mail yay! and on the sheet it says the online notification date for decisions is December 16th for Early Action. Does Yale have a tendency to post a day in advance? Just curious…every day counts!
