Feel like I’m withering away not have an AO interview. Got a bad feeling about this
Same here haha…
If there is a second interview wave, any ideas when it will be released?
There will most likely be a second wave. I’m assuming its this week since AO interviews will be held from April 9th to the 17th.
Hey idk if this changes your perspective a bit but I actually feel really good about not getting an AO interview. I personally belive they are more needed when they want to know more about you. There’s a chance you sold yourself enough. Just hold out, no worries over here.
Everything I’ve read says you must get an AO interview to move to the next round. I have yet to see anyone that said they got in without one.
I’ve seen multiple people be accepted to EWSP without interviews so this is absolutely untrue.
Can you point me to where you saw that? I’ve lived on this and reddit and haven’t seen anyone, genuinely curious! Please let me know.
I’ve seen this too. I’m keeping the faith strong
I feel that way too
I’ve never saved the links. It’s been on both reddit and CC. I also have seen on TikTok people apply and not be offered a AO interview and still got in. I don’t want to let you down but imo I promise it’s not that serious.
I get you! I genuinely just wanted to know for my sake, feeling pretty down about not getting one. Thank you for your words of encouragement!
Absolutely no reason to feel down on yourself, even if you don’t get in (not saying you won’t, just as some advice) you’re light years ahead of most students. We’re the crème of the crop. You will have plenty of great opportunities other than this one, and you could always still attend for grad school if you’re looking into it. Don’t let anything hang over your head.
Based on the previous threads from 2022 and 2023, the second wave of the AO interview invitations are sent on the third week of April and I did see some people stating that people were accepted without the AO interview as well, but most people who were accepted were invited for one. It seems like if we don’t receive the AO interview invitation in the second wave, the day after, most people receive rejections (MOST, not all haha). Hope this helps!
BTW - I’ve seen people from previous years receiving the AO interview invitation at 8PM EST so let’s keep checking our inbox at that time everyday lol
Yeah, I’ve seen similar timing, but I think we’re ahead of schedule for interviews and for decisions. I spoke with someone on Reddit that said they got their interview in late April and decisions were released May 21st. We’re looking at May 9th decision, and seeing interviews a month out or so again. I would venture to guess that if we don’t get one by the end of this week, we will not be getting one.
Agree with this. If it does not come this week I don’t think we’ll get one. AO interviews are a good sign but not crucial for an acceptance. Don’t lose hope guys. I’m going to do my Stand Out interview in a little bit and will come back to report.
Ok, I just finished, totally botched the 1st question lol I answered it in like 30 seconds. I was extremely nervous, my heart went up to 180BPM LMAO. Only had 3 questions and they were basically all about academics. Did not really have room to speak about me or anything besides school.
My understanding is that the AO interview serves primarily to assess whether the way a candidate has described themselves through their essays aligns with what’s observed in a live conversation. I think it’s a great idea, since no paid essay writer or AI will be able to help during an interview. Therefore it’s unlikely in my view that an application would be so good as to just skip the interview as it’s a critical verification step. If you haven’t received an invite I’d definitely submit the standout if you’re still waiting.
