Yale University Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

I was deferred and got a Sid. My friend got a Sid but was rejected. It has no indication what so ever

However last week I did get updates portal changes to my FA portal. A few more things added. I wonder why they didn’t add this in the early round

Last week, I reached out to them and got a few forms updated since I had them on IDOC long ago. Does that count

Depends on how eager they were to hear from you  Let us know if we should add this to the portal astrology guide! :joy:

I dont think me asking abt my documents, counts as astrology

If do you have css imaging and documents services in yale checklist ?

It is suddenly appeared .

That’s been there for me since deferral

What got updated for me was they added new schedules to my portal

Good news. We don’t have any more docs to be updated. Ours are very simple. And we don’t have a chance to get in .

I called the admissions office. SIDs are assigned to all applicants for financial aid purposes as soon as you apply. If you end up being accepted, you keep that number. Other than that, it means nothing. Hope to put this to rest once and for all!

Guys the SID issue has already been resolved.

Hello, in your opinion why would Yale defer someone REA but not interview them early or during RD?

Honestly I would think that means they don’t need more info from you to make a decision. They already have the info they need.

Agree with the comment above. Good luck next week.

Yeah it’s actually my daughter who is applying. But thank you for the well wishes. She’s pretty nervous about the process and she’s literally feeling as if Yale deferred her maybe because they didn’t get around to reviewing her app. Silly to think, I know but this process has been a tad stressful for all of us.

They only defer about 20% of applicants. Deferral is a pretty good sign.

Yeah but then she didn’t even get an interview from Harvard either. She got one from UPenn but I believe they intentionally interview every applicant. Just seems a little weird to defer and not interview someone. Kinda implies they already made the decision but if that’s the case they could’ve made it early. Idk just results in a lot of anxiety for my daughter. It’s been a very long application process.

I didn’t get an interview from Penn, so no, Penn probably tries but are unable to get everyone.

I think there is really no chance of that based on what they have explained in the podcast. Her application presumably got through the initial review/cut, was read, and was presented to a regional admissions committee. The committee discussed and decided she had a strong application and was a good fit for Yale, but they were not sure if she would stand out or not in the RD pool.

Apparently at no point did a reader or committee suggest they wanted an interview to help assess fit, which is a good thing, so she wasn’t prioritized for an interview. And now it is just a question of whether she stands out enough or not in the RD pool.

But she has as good a shot as anyone (outside of the likely letter folks).
