Hi BKSquared, I was wondering what you meant by “2 batches for SCEA this year”. New here and out of touch with some of the procedures, haha.

I had 2 interviews assigned to me the first week in November with a Nov 22 deadline to submit reports. HuiMom’s son was only contacted for an interview 11/22 with the interviewer saying the report needed to be completed by 12/2. So it seems the AO is reading and granting interviews in batches.

Hi Everyone. I just got an interview request last month (apparently, the deadline for interview reports for my interviewer is Dec 2.). I’ve heard that an interview request from Yale is more of a mixed-signal, so if anyone has any advice for preparation, it would be greatly appreciated :slight_smile:

I’d be prepared to discuss anything in your application, and particularly your story about what led you to applying to Yale. A basic prepared answer to the “tell me about yourself” question is usually a good idea. You might also want to think about questions you could ask the interviewer.

But really it is not a test, it is an opportunity for you to talk about yourself and your interest in Yale. And you are the world’s leading expert on those subjects! So you are in good shape already.

My D got an interview on 12/04 with a senior student. The latest date available was 12/06.

Is EA decision date confirmed for 12/17 @ 5pm ET?

Hi, it appears to be so when looking on the portal. So it’s set on the 17th @ 5:00 PM!

My kid told me last night that a classmate said it was Friday 13th at 5pm.

I put Saturday 5pm into my calendar a while back but now I can’t find out where I got that info from.

People said that Yale is often released on the same day as Harvard and Harvard is set for the 12th this time. The Yale portal says the 17th, but I’m wondering if that might change.

I really doubt they will change it. They hold off posting a date and time until they are sure.

I wish they would! all this waiting is excruciating.

I recall that they posted it before the deadline, and this year saw a significant drop in applicants, so it may be unlikely but definitely possible.
