what do you guys write in other peoples yearbooks?

have a good summer, you know, the usual…well this year it will be “good luck in college, and in life since i probably won’t ever see you again, buddy.”

We don’t write in yearbooks. We get them in the fall. Seniors get autograph books, though.

i try to remember something personal i did with the person, but if it is a total stranger i write hey _, it was fun having class with you, or it sucks we didnt have _____ class together…crap like that.

but this year i have a problem.

i dont know what to write in the yearbook of the guy i like…i think he probably likes me too…but he is so shy i have to say it first…ahhh stress.

“Not seeing you every day will take some getting used to!”

^ def put your number in there

haha…i usually put something personal. It gets awkward sometimes when you write “…uh, it was nice hooking up with you at jerrys party that one saturday.”

I am not a big writer…I hate signing yearbooks beacuse in these last few days I don’t even want to pick up a pen…but I do it anyway. I try to write nice messages, but for friends they will be longer and more personal.

I could tell people the things that I write down in a yearbook…I’m obviously not a yearbook person. To me…what’s the point.

I write generic “have a good summer” stuff unless I know the person well. I try to remember funny things that happened in classes/at prom/sporting events/whatever so it sounds more personal. And I leave my number if I want to hang out with them.

“i dont know what to write in the yearbook of the guy i like.”

Argh, I sooo know what that’s like >_<

I write what’s happening around me at the time…I figure it’s better than writing have a good summer.

ok, so far, this is what i have thought of.

hey! it was a lot of fun having you in ap world this year, i hope you did well on the ap test. __insert something here that subtly says i like him____. (and then maybe what you said martha). i really hope we have classes together next year…have a good summer…etc etc.

coming from a guy, albeit not a shy one

just say

‘lets hang out. xxx-xxxx’

dont go on about grades, ect.

^^
What he said.

ok thanks for your advice

oh. at my school we reserve pages in other peoples’ yearbooks. yeah we write a lot. just if you’re really good friends, then you write about all the good times.

otherwise, it’s like a, nice knowing you, good to be in your class, stay cool, HAGS.

haha

My generic format would be :
*
Hey _________!

Congrats! I know gonna have a great time at (whatever college they are going to). You’re a great (athlete/artist/singer/student/whatever talent they have). I’m gonna miss you, but we’ll always have (insert favorite memory or class together). Keep in touch and come visit me at (the name of the college you are attending) sometime!

Take care…*
That’s for people that aren’t that close with me. My close friends I wrote personalized ones.

Some guy wrote in my friend’s yearbook (as a joke):

I can’t think of anything to say. I hope you are more interesting next year. Love XXX

But I’d definetly go with a personal memory. Not hooking up or something stupid, but a personal joke or school trip or something.

I’m planning on ending most of mine with:

Come visit me if you’re ever in Vancouver!

… because I’m going to UBC.

Yup, friends or classmates just write the generic stuff but close friends write at least a page…

I usually write “Have a radical summer. It was great getting to know you this year. ------ would have been really dull without you.” and all that stuff. With close friends, I add something more personal.

H.A.G.S!! or HAKS!! or HATS!! It all means the same thing.
