You just can't make this stuff up! The crazy news of the day thread.

We’ve seen more than one stupid tourist in South Africa standing outside their car, taking photos of lions, leopards, etc. Ack! The girl that took the cake, though, was the one who rolled down her window and leaned way out to get a picture of a female lioness walking right by her car. That girl is lucky to have survived. Our car was right behind her and I took a photo of her (through my closed window of course!).

Those lions are not fuzzy-wuzzy Disney Simbas and Nalas… sigh. The selfie game sometimes can have a deadly end.

I still remember when my kids and H and I were in the car at a national park and driving by some people who were putting young children on the backs of wild burros to take photos. Our kids were upset we would do it. We patiently explained how dangerous and foolish those people were to touch, much less be in range of wild animals and carelessly endangering their kids. Our kids nodded solemly and were silent after that.

Lol. Imagine driving around and smelling something burning under the hood…

“Car bonnet”- cute. :relaxed:

This may be the strangest news story I’ve ever heard.

That’s British for “hood.” I think there was a poster here who used that word to describe her car hood.

Man plays prank on loved ones at his own funeral.

That is the kind of guy I would love to have known.

A Norwegian official said in an interview that Norwegians should pee in the shower in order to save water. Yuck.

Remember the Seinfeld episode? George got caught doing that at the gym?

Almost every Brit (and Aussie and Kiwi) calls it a bonnet. The other end of the car is the boot. Americans aren’t the only English speakers in the world, ya know.

Of course we aren’t. The posters quickly figured out that the car issues that poster was talking about were… in the U.K.

I love the term “car bonnet”!

No more Royal Caribbean cruises for this foolish woman.

That car had a hood because it was in Pittsburgh but was called a bonnet by the reporting BBC.

In another thread I mentioned that the Dallas tornado hit my old neighborhood (and future neighborhood as well as we have purchased a lot there to build another house) head on. I saw on Twitter that a woman found a pair of jeans in her yard from the Gap store in our corner shopping center that was destroyed. It still had the tags on it (and one of those plastic thingies that shrieks if you walk out the door with it).

The amazing part-this lady lives 4 miles away from that shopping center!

Getting drunk on pizza! ??

Amazing and scary!!!

Some at Amazon headquarters… Hmmm… drones? Maybe we need to work on a tornado delivery system!

Why do these gender reveals have to get so “big”? A woman dies because of one!
