You Know You’re Getting Old When…

Slight correction.
That’s “FINE!” (read that in disgusted voice…)

My kids use Got it!

I had no clue about not using okay. I use okay all the time.

Every morning as I wake, I think what time is it, what day is it, what hurts.

I also wake up and immediately think “what day is it, what time is it, what’s going on this morning”. I can usually figure it out right away, but now I’m old enough that I’m SO impressed with myself that I can orient to time and place so well :grinning:

Yeah and when I hit that sweet spot in bed where suddenly there is no nagging little pain somewhere.

I had to move my apple watch on night time mode next to the bed. The long days (especially when visiting Seattle) and early sunrise disorient me.

You have ample time to browse on the internet.

You order food from Door Dash and 30 minutes later have forgotten about it so much so that your first reaction to the stranger at your door is “not another Jehova’s witness”.

Re the ok discussion: my kids tend to use kk. I don’t understand the difference, but… I am old

I’m going to say “you know you’re old when…” you are letting your kids direct/influence how you respond “ok” on a text message!!! At long as “ok” is what is clearly meant, it’s your prerogative how to type/tap it out!

I’m old, too, and use ok or okay. My daughter (age 21) uses kk, but her boyfriend (age 25) uses okay. I don’t think any of us cares one way or the other.

I mainly do a thumbs up emoji on the post to show I read and agreed or understood. Seems to work pretty well.

I type “ok” and it automatically converts to an emoji thumbs up.

Oh, I still use ok, or more often thumbs up. They don’t have a problem with that. I was just sharing kk because someone asked what else was being used.

After reading this thread I texted a group text with the younger crowd to assure them there was no hidden message in the way I typed OK, or anything else

Someone sends you the :eggplant: emoji and you can’t decide if they are in the mood for eggplant parm or moussaka.

For heavens sake, I think reasonable for me to use Ok. But NOT right for younger people (today my hair dresser) to say things like they will reply by noon then forget all about.
