Your best guess for gas price on 4th of July

The only GOOD thing I have noted about the high gas prices in our state is that there are fewer cars on the road, which makes driving somewhat more pleasant than when we’re always in gridlock. I am sure it affects the amount people have to spend on other things when they have to devote more to paying for higher & higher gas prices. These are still very challenging times, especially in our state. There continues to be a lot of unemployment and underemployment here.

Gee DadII…for some odd reason I thought you had purchased a smaller car. I drive a mid size sedan and I seldom put 17 gallons in when I fill it. I think it only has an 18 gallon tank.

DH stopped for gas at our local Shell the other day and filled up (14+ gallons) for $39 and change. The display showed “no discounts” when he entered our Kroger Plus number, but he was only charged $2.74/gallon when the advertised price was $3.74/gallon. We felt like we won the gas lottery.

LOL splashmom. They must have set the program wrong, with a decimal place wrong! Its supposed to discount ten cents per gallon with the Kroger card, not a dollar a gallon!

price is $3.65 in mississippi

Bloomberg is reporting this morning that crude oil prices are tumbling. They’re calling it the “Bin Laden Rally.”

Crude opened at $113, went up to $115 and is now $113.59. Is that tumbling? All three major indexes are in the red by small amounts - not much of a celebration in the markets. The US Dollar Index is back under 73 too.

And Kroger is changing their policy on gas discounts, too(beginning in April). At least here in Ohio they are.
