Your best guess for gas price on 4th of July

The price just got over $4/g yesterday. That means it will take us over $70 for one fill up. It hurts. But it will be much worst when the summary driving season.

My guess is that we will see an yearly high of $5.50 this year in our region.

What is the gas price in your region now? What do you think the yearly high will be?

PS. any one would like to guess how high the gold price will go this year?

Heard yesterday, Apr 28, that nat’l aver. is 3.89 gal. My region is 3.99
My prediction is that nat’l ave on July 4 will be 4.39.

Thanks for the reminder - I just picked up a bunch of shares in “Medium Oil”. My energy stocks have been doing great, I just don’t have as many shares as I’d like. This was a good reminder to add a little more to my position.

Gasoline is $3.89 average in my area. There are two stations that are probably priced around $3.80 - basically the no-frills, feels like the station is falling apart type of stations that are in crummy locations.

I pay for my gasoline out of the dividends from one of my energy holdings.

Gas is $4.15 a gallon in central Ohio. We are going to Myrtle Beach for the 4th of July holiday and have to take 2 cars. Might have to take out a second mortgage to be able to afford the gas for the trip.

Yikes… I just paid $3.76 at Sam’s and thought that was awful! I’m trying to think of a good vacation spot nearby for this year.

It’s $4.39 for Regular gas in my town now. It wouldn’t shock me if it hit $4.99 by July 4th.

Crude is close to $114 right now. My oil company purchase this morning is now up a buck ten.

Northern Indiana was up to $4.29. Paid $4.25 today. If anyone knows why we pay more than most all the other states, please post! Do those of you in other states also pay sales tax on your gas?

Indiana has the eighth highest gasoline taxes in the country. There may be regional differences as to why the northern part might be more expensive than the rest of the state.

I’m not going to hazard a guess but I am thrilled that my new car gets 33mpg.

My first wild guess upon seeing this thread was a national average of $4.29/gal.

After looking at some trends, my semi-educated guess would be $4.40/gal or so. I sure hope not.

I believe I paid 4.32 yesterday for gas. It cost $95 to fill up my tank (tank is 25 gallons). Just waiting for 100 per fill up. This is Southern California

I guess I was hasty in my report of prices. Prices were 5 to 8 cents higher driving home compared to driving into work. I’d put our average around $3.96 now. Given what happened to crude today, I’d guess that they’ll go up a few more cents over the weekend.

Today’s average: $3.909
One year ago: $2.877

-_-

All-time high, 7/17/2008: $4.114

It already passed $6/gal in some places in our state, so I shudder to think!

Refinery outages in storm-hit states are causing supply shortages.

Prices aren’t high. My local gas station owner collects corvettes.

$4.25 today in extreme NW IN. Last weekend near Indy we filled up for 3.91.

Average in Southern NH seems to be $3.98 today. Up a few cents.

I shudder to think of what might happen if the prices to continue to rise. It wasn’t so long ago that the spike at the pumps led to some pretty serious ramifications that put so many people in a bad place financially , which we still haven’t rebounded from as a whole
Our business had the first drop in sales for the first time this year for the month of April , when we were gaining in the previous months ( as compared to 2010 ) It might have been the weather , but might have been the gas prices , but we sweat it no matter what was the cause
