YOUR Celebratory Trip!

Sorry, Would not pay $46 shipping. If you scroll down, you’ll see the minimum US shipping. I used to be able to get it at McNulty’s in the Village but FM pulled all of their US distribution. They used to have a mail-order address in Delaware, but stopped that too. Believe me, I’ve been on this for years.

But it is cheaper than a Rt ticket to London. ;)

I’ve done a lot of traveling and loved all of it. If I picked a country it would probably be Italy to go back to. That would be great. Rome, Florence, Venice, Lake Como, Tuscany–all in between. Now I need to go south.
But if you haven’t been to Paris–that is where I’d go to celebrate most anything. First and foremost.
But for my 60th–I’d stay home and invite my friends for the weekend and have a blow-out time with no muss and no fuss. And cake and ice cream! but we might wish we were in Paris!

If YOU took a trip to celebrate YOUR 60th birthday, where would you go?>>>>>>>

Back in time. :))

Not sure, I should start thinking about my time in 1.5 years which will coincide with retirement. I have alot of favorites and some I do not want to repeat… For H’s 60th went to maui and loved it. went on a boat cruise, surfed. had not been there in 30 years. We have been talking about going on a long camping trip in our new teardrop across Canada.

We have another week to go on our 30th anniversary trip - Germany, eastern France, and Amsterdam. I’m already thinking of where we’ll go when we come back.

The Kokomo Dragon is actually green, harmless, highly vocal, and resembles a well-known television character:

Then there is the Kimono dragon that likes to wear robes…

BB–you need to lighten up

I did stay home for my 60th bd and it was great. Took a long walk with friends. One of them made a delicious wine cake and served it with…wine. Then H and I went out to dinner with 4 dear friends to a favorite restaurant. Wonderful!

“BB–you need to lighten up”

Huh? I thought the topic of this thread was “YOUR celebratory trip.” I’m not telling anyone should do what I personally think is a good way to celebrate life for ME.

Our every year vacation is celebratory trip to Cozumel. It has been for at least 15 years+, lost count
Next year, we are going to Costa Rica though. I do not know hwta to expect.
Cozumel has been fun every single year. However, it is for thouse who love to snorkel (or scuba dive), spend whole day long on a beach (there is alternative for shade, we never sit in a sun), paly ping pong, color white pottery, walk on a beach, swim in a pool, overeat on great food…if you are not like this, there is nothing else to do in Cozumel. It has been a perfect vacation for us and our D. But it is time to check out real estate…

A Hawaiian Islands cruise, An Alaska cruise, Greece, Turks & Caicos, Curacao, St. Lucia, Tuscany, Portofino, Spain & Portugal…most of these I’ve done already, a few still to go…

Yeah, @BunsenBurner‌, lighten up! :
I admit, I am rather confused…

I’m so glad @biel1958 started this thread - so many good ideas here.

I have a Big Birthday next year and am trying to decide between a trip to England with my husband (who dislikes the idea of travel but enjoys it when it’s happening, so the pressure will be on to get everything just right) and 2 weeks in a great beach house on the Outer Banks with far-flung family members invited. I’m trying to decide which I’d regret not choosing more. The beach vacation will never be more convenient than next year. But England!

I could never go back to the same place every year-- that’s why we’ll never get a second home in a vacation spot. I love exploring new places. I have returned to my favorites a couple of times though (which is why I want a nice long stint in Venice  ) and I love returning to places for a longer visit after a quick initial visit (see: Amsterdam). The only places I could go to over and over again are NYC and London. Okay, maybe Paris. But not every year.

Two weeks in a beach house with relatives may not be your husbands idea of a great vacation, but more like suffering. Two weeks. One house. Relatives.

Yikes. I say one week max, AND England.

I’m planning to go to Big Island. Has never been there so maybe do 5-7 days swimming with dolphins and turtles would be great.

France, particularly Paris and the Normandy beaches

Definitely Italy! Walking tour in Cinque Terre…
