Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

neumes, Our TJ Maxx has men’s long johns that are the same top brands sold in ski shops. I was miffed that they didn’t have any for women!

thanks, mapesy. I will stop by this week!

Wow, your H’s price to HI is lower than the price for my tickets from HI to LAX! I bought them while fares were rising, before they started to drop again. <sigh> Oh well, I’m glad the seats are confirmed & airline still flies.</sigh>

I’ve seen true Nalgenes at slightly better prices at the local Army Navy Surplus store.

For NorthFace, Macy’s had a screaming good deal just before Thanksgiving - 25% off. I was able to use an additional 20% off Macy’s coupon (and must confess, the purchase was for me). I have no inside info, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see them marked down again before Christmas.

Our Sunday newspaper has been full of coupons - I’m more organized this year and making sure I take full advantage of all that apply to my purchases.

Macy’s is having amazing prices – it does make folks crazy figuring out which items are allowed for which coupons, but otherwise the prices are tough to beat anywhere.

It was 7 degrees last night in Southern NH.

Patagonia makes nice long underwear in a variety of weights for men and women. They do a nice job of wicking sweat from the body if you’re in that kind of environment.

Today only (but supposedly also yesterday only so who knows how long) 42% off everything Kenneth Cole online.

30% off plus free shipping from Coldwater Creek with code WXH6319

North Face Denali Fleece Jackets–30% off at REI website. If you use coupon code HOLIDAY8 you get an additional $20 off in addition to the 30% (when your order is $100 or more).

I’m not in the market for one but I’m sure others here may be looking for them.

Lots of good buys today!!!

Our family does a Secret Santa - we pick a gift topic (something “food” related this year) and have a limit of about $25. I wanted to buy my person (my niece who is starting out on her own) something fun, but useful. I found this Cuisinart Hand Blender on Amazon last night - great reviews, list price $55, on sale $25.99 plus free shipping!
[Amazon.com: Cuisinart CSB-76BC SmartStick 200-Watt Immersion Hand Blender, Brushed Chrome: Home & Garden](http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-CSB-76BC-SmartStick-200-Watt-Immersion/dp/B000EGA6QI/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1229054021&sr=8-2)

Other great buys today:
American Eagle Striped Oxford shirts at TJ Maxx - $12.99

Ipod Sync Cord $7.99 - TJ Maxx

Computer Game - in the cardboard box it was $19.99. Packaged in just the jewel case, $9.99 - who needs the cardboard box anyway?!!

bunsenburner - she agonized over colors the whole way through Costco (they were on a table as we walked in the store). She has a thigh-length black puffy North Face, so I told her black would be silly to get. However, like I said, she was looking for something that had the ‘dressier’ look, as opposed to the puffy look, for work. Her other choices were a brown, and sort of olive green. She decided to go with the olive green as it will go with most everything she would be wearing as business attire.

When we walked in the store and she saw the table of them she said, “Wow… they must have just put these out this morning because otherwise they’d be mostly gone by now.” If your store was already out, then it must have been a hot buy. She almost bought one for her roommate (who doesn’t have a Costco membership) who had just said she needed a new down coat (the roommate would have reimbursed her… not as a gift). They may regret she didn’t as they may be gone by now.

Yep… can you believe $300 retail?

I recently received two $10.00 off any purchase of $10.00 or more from Penneys. Had one more Christmas gift to get so was going to the store anyway. Picked up the gift, paid a very discounted price for it (70% off), and got for free, two pairs of socks and one pair of slippers for me! Merry Christmas to me!!

Visited the Nord Rack at Seattle, scored a pair of “Mom” jeans for $15, reduced from $98, got a winter shirt for $5, reduced from $49, all from clearance racks. I am sure I could have got more if I have more time to shop. May be heading towards the Flagship store today, hopefully more deals ? :)

teriwtt, LOL! Is this your daughter who is moving to Boston? She might run into a young lady wearing an olive-greenish Michael Kors down coat in Cambridge Square on a weekend day! That would be my kid  I can tell you that the coat is terrific! I have to fess up that I bought two, since I was not sure of D’s size, thinking that I would return the one that did not fit. As the temperature dropped to below freezing this week (record lows yesterday!), I decided that the other coat is not going back to Costco :)

bunsenburner - yes, this is the Boston transplant kid. She lives in the Brighton area (and since I know nothing about Boston, I have no idea where it is in relation to Cambridge Square!). I guess the girls should be glad that Costco offered only a limited number of them, but that they cashed in on the deal (or, rather, their moms did).

munchkin - I love those ‘mom’ jeans from Nordstrom. Bought a pair of the ‘dressier’ slacks that the company now makes that I can wear for work, as well as two pair of their cords… not from the Rack, but they were marked down nicely at Nordstrom. Will have to check the Rack for them next time I’m there (which only happens about twice a year).

Just thought of this one – [url=http://www.bluenile.com]Diamonds, Engagement Rings and Fine Jewelry at Blue Nile/url has an offer through 12/22 for those paying with paypal: purchases of $50 or more receive a $20 credit to the paypal account. Limit of one credit per paypal account. I bought a $55 bracelet as a Christmas gift about a week ago. Today I received a notice that my paypal account has been credited $20. Bluenile shipping (via fedex) is speedy and free. The quality is excellent. I accessed this offer through an email I received from paypal – not sure how to find the link otherwise, but Bluenile’s phone customer service is great so they could probably help.

I’d (low-grade) wanted to get the Settlers of Catan board game for awhile, balked a little at the list price ($33-40). Amazon now has it at $20. I was planning on getting it for one of my sibs as a birthday present, so I essentially did a “buy one get one free” which also got the free shipping. I am so looking forward to playing this!

Went to American Eagle today. Bought a hooded knit shirt (not a sweatshirt) for $24.99 (was originally $29.00) and a second item for 50% off. The second item was a pair of surfer type slippers/shoes that retailed for $44 but were on sale for $14.99 but add on to that the 50% discount (came to $7.50). In addition, I got another 20% off the total with a coupon.

Went today to our local theater to buy tickets to see Footloose in January for my 2 girls and myself (will be one of their gifts along with a CD of the original soundtrack - they are both dancers). Was able to get their tickets “student rate” (hmmm…the theater never offered this before, guess I got a good salewoman who was interested in giving me a “good buy of the day” ) at half-price!!! So got their tickets 1/2 price for a live performance and got the CD at B and N for 7-ish dollars with a coupon!!!

Great minds think alike. I was at American Eagle today buying hoodies. I already have my tickets to the Sunday performance of Footloose, abasket.
