About a month ago, I found a seller on Craiglist selling Nikon equipment. I paid $400 for a F100 with a SB-24 flash and a 37-70mm F2.8 AF-d lens; plus a N55 with a 28-80mm and a 70-300mm Nikkor lens. All in “like new” condition with original boxes and all have fresh new batteries.

Turn around, I sold the items one by one for a total of $700. That 35-70mm F2.8 lens alone worths $400.

Simba - what did you think of the knit hats? Both of mine are the same color and I pulled a Minnie Pearl with one. I grabbed it, pulled it on and didn’t realize it had a tag on top - until I got home from the grocery store. I was a sight!

Just ordered DS2 a NorthFace Khumbu fleece jacket for $54 with free shipping from moosejaw.com! Paid $80 for one for DS1’s before Christmas. They have some colors of the Denali jacket for $129, but not the more popular colors.

Bought a patagonia better sweater fleece for 60. They wrwe on sale at their website two weeks ago, and I search promotion code from Google, got extra 20% off and free shipping. They are the best fleece I ever had, thick, warm and soft. Love it so much !

The NOOK! My itch is haunting me!!! I am not familiar with this “1saleaday” website. Anyone order from there before??? That’s about 1/2 the price of a new one…and I was going to go check one out at a local store tomorrow…

Do you think the warranty is still through B and N???

I caved! I bought the refurbished Nook! Yikes!

I was definitely wanting Nook over Kindle for the library option. I did not want to initially invest in the Nook Color though and it’s expense not knowing how I’ll like this reading option for sure.

This way, I figured I can test drive - either be satisfied with this model or if I am totally loving the concept, pass this one on to one of my kids and THEN splurge on the Nook Color!

Cross your fingers that this transaction goes ok. I have never ordered from this site, but did some research and checked the BBB and I think I’m good.

Thanks SO much kathiep!!! (CC people are the best!)

2flipper - this thread has done both - saved many of us lots of $$ and made many of us SPEND a lot of money (but hey, it’s a GOOD DEAL right??!)

I don’t know if this has been mentioned, but the I was informed that in a few weeks those of you who are Amazon Prime members will be able to stream movies (including current DVD releases) FREE on Amazon. In short, they are trying to compete with NETFLIX et al.

I adore my Nook, and I didn’t think I would like it. I bought it refurbished just before Thanksgiving. Check out the Free Library of Philadelphia ($15 for a one year membership is you are out of area) or the Alchuha County Library (aclib.us) for access to additional ebooks. Nookdeals.blogspot.com lists free or low cost Nook books, updated daily. You can also search the BN website, under NookBooks using 0.00 in the search box. Free items change, I downloaded some Kaplan guides a couple of weeks ago…

This is going to be a tough one for me. Once I’m sold on a company I am very loyal, and Amazon and Netflix are both on my great-companies list. I really don’t want to have to chose.

I do have Amazon Prime now, though, since DS invited me to join from his student account, so I’ll at least try it out.

musicamusica, OMG! Very, very very clever of Amazon. I was thinking of how next year we’d be able to leech off of D1’s free Amazon Prime account, but now we’ll have to get our own to use the streaming option. It looks like it’ll be only lower-resolution images (not taking on VUDU yet), but that’s fine by me. Right now we use both Netflix (for its depth of catalog) and the occasional Amazon Video on Demand (for Mad Men).
