^^^I sent D1 the autumn collection last week. Love when they have the “free shipping” option on the inexpensive sets of cookies :)

I just got a winter jacket, before discount $169, after 40% discount $101!

My daughter is in town and she went to shop at our wonderful thrift shop (independent, not a Goodwill and much better). She got pants & a CUTE dinosaur hoodie for her son, and a necklace for herself. Happy shopping. :)

Wool dress pants, navy, at the LLBEAN outlet, tagged at $9.95, half price. $5.00 out the door in my size and length:

Bought a whole bunch of stuff the other day at 2 different stores. With the sales and discounts, etc, ended up with 2 dresses, 5 tops and 2 pr pants for about $160. Then got $20 credit back and the next day got 2 belts for DH which then cost about $20 total for the 2.

As an aside, I almost wore the one piece spanx-type thing I bought a while ago, but it seems that if I wear it under my dress, if nature calls, I’d have to completely undress. Ladies, whats the solution, if there is one? For me the solution was not to wear the thing. It would be worse if I wore a skirt and top or slacks and top. Seems to me a collossal PITA.

Another question-- anyone have a code for 70-80% off on the restaurant.com site this month? The links I find are taking me to other links rather than the code

JYM, the only email I have from restaurant.com is for $5 for $25 certificates - the code on that is SAVE (then hit “apply”) - is there a better one out there???

I printed out the few restaurant.com certificates I have in my account the other day and noticed that all of them were purchases in either December or June - and I only buy them when it’s one of their mega sales - wonder if they do like a semi-annual big sale???

The email also had this link:

Thanks, abasket. Will ck it out. I thought they sent codes for 60, 70 , 80% off pretty frequently, but I haven’t looked in a while.

Scored my first pair of NYDJ jeans today at Nordstrom Rack for under $40. Woohoo!

Ann Taylor Loft having a 40% off everything sale. Bought a $25 breast cancer card and saved an additional 20%. Just purchased fall clothes, recently lost weight and nothing from last year fits. Saved $300.

Good for you! I hope I can say that next year…trying not to buy larger sizes now until I am back to my old weight. Ann Taylor has nice clothes.

Went to Steinmart yesterday. Had 2 20% off sale items coupon and a “scratch off” coupon for items that were on red dot sale (markdown). By the time I got to the store I’d run a bunch of other errands and was pretty tired so didn’t have the energy to try on a lot, and it was getting late. So I ended up with a dress, a top and a pair of capri’s. First 2 were on sale so used teh 20% coupons, and the capris wee reddot so used the scratchoff. Turns out I had a 75% off coupon!! The sales clerk said it was the first she’d seen all day! So if I’d had the time/energy I’d have gone back to the red dot stuff to hunt for other stuff. Alas, I did not. But I got the pants for $2.49! The dress and top were about half their original price. I am wearing the pants and top now. This entire new outfit cost $12 :)

Great! Was able to buy H some Kirkland Costco jeans that he likes AND are in his size–they normally only order a few in his size & it rapidly sells out. He’s decided he prefers this cut over the Calvin Klein, especially the front pockets & not having a rivet in the back pocket that sticks out. Will be returning an unused pair of CKs instead.

Got Briggs & Riley suitcases–normally $399 mfgr price for only $139 apiece at Costco (two weeks ago they were $189 apiece). Also, since they’re from Costco, we can take them back if they break or we change our mind & decide we don’t really like them.

Also got a FULL REFUND from AmEx Costco card for a netbook that D has had for just over 2 years. Her screen went black & she was pretty annoyed. We’re very happy!

Not a parent here but I was on a mission today to find a fall/winter trench coat. Went to Nordstrom’s Off the Rack and found nothing, Loehmann’s and found two Michael Kors trenches for $129.99 and they didn’t fit great, so as I was walking back to the Metro rather dejectedly I spotted a TJ Maxx. Went in on a whim and walked out with an originally $350 Tahari trench coat for $69.99!!

You go, soccergurl!

Nice job soccergurl!

Wanted a shredder and asked around. It was recommended that I get a Swingline Stack&Shred, which allows you to put up to 60 or so papers in the shredder & then walk away while it auto-feeds and shreds. Checked prices and printed it @ $99.99 for that model at OfficeMax.com, which said it was in stock at our local store. Drove to the store (it was significantly more EVERYWHERE else, including eBay, Amazon.com, OfficeDepot, BestBuy and elsewhere). Got the salesman to show me the last remaining boxed model on the sales floor. Asked him why the marked price at the store was $15 more & he asked when I printed the document I brought into the store from OfficeMax and got the manager to match their on-line price. Also was able to buy LubricantSheets for the shredder.

We have so far shredded about 1000 of the broker’s docs we have from our former broker (moved it all over to Schwab). So far, the shredder has operated flawlessly and we are VERY pleased. Originally was going to give it to the non-profit but now I think I’ll just loan it to the non-profit & keep it as our home machine, since we have so much more to shred than the non-profit. Am VERY happy! Will be invaluable in helping us declutter our home that is filled with old tax returns, old financial statements and other things very deserving of shredding.

My credit union regularly offers a free shredding service. You can bring in as much stuff as you want.

1000 pages - that’s a lot… don’t knock over the bin, you’ll be picking up confetti for the next month. ;)

Thanks–the “free” shredding services around here are only held VERY rarely, and they often get cancelled or rescheduled because the shredder jams or breaks. Am happy with having our own machine. Happy also that we bought it on our AmEx card, so we can get an extended year of warranty over the manufacturer’s. We figure at the end of the two years, we will have gotten our money’s worth on this machine and be OK if it breaks.

H likes it so much he’ll be recommending that his brother buy the 100x model which can take stacks of up to 100 pages (ours is supposed to have a max of 60 pages but we think it’s more like 50 pages). Love the auto-feed feature & it fascinated H so much he shredded the 1st 1000 pages testing out the machine! ;)
