Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Interesting, the $70 amazon thing seems to have been around for awhile, but yesterday was the first time I saw it. I wonder what I did to trigger it.

I pulled the trigger, can’t resist a free $70. I doubt I will use it for anything other than Amazon. The rest of the features are just meh.

I was looking at Vera because of that free shipping - this is an adorable robe for college students or us moms!!!

Its your fault abasket!! I just bought something :)

Our hallmark store has good prices on Vera Bradley products. We also have two Vera Bradley outlets about 1/2 hour away.

Scored a pair of Jimmy Choo pumps in navy patent on Nordstrom’s site! Sensible 2 inch heel and 55% off (not that great of a discount, but I feel that this year not a single pair in my size will go to the Rack when this sale is over).

That VB robe is cuuuuute! :)

I signed up for the Amazon card and received $60.

Had to pick up a comforter set and finally got H to agree on one at Macys. Was 100$ - a friend gave me their 25$ off of 100 coupon. Then used Macys money - total cost of the comforter set was 35$ !!

The Amazon deal is attractive, but there is also an Amex Card that offers 100 dollars and a free Prime account. The card is not free but the 75 dollars annual fee is easily compensated by a whopping 6% percent rebate on groceries up to 360 a year. I think gas also gets rebated by 3 percent. It is not an ideal card for travel purposes, but is an excellent deal for Amazon shoppers. This said, I am not 100 percent certain if it works for existing AZers.

You’ve got to meet a spending threshold to get the $100 and a free year of Prime, which seems to be $1000 in the first three months.

Well, getting a FREE replacement keyboard because I broke the latch on the Logitech iPad mini keyboard. Originally, I was told there was nothing they could do but theyr decided to do a one-time goodwill gesture and replace it for me. The keyboard still works but it was nice when the latch worked–it broke off when it fell from the couch, sadly. I’m very happy with their customer service and will continue to purchase their products.

H was shocked that I found their contact info (on their website) and was able to navigate to speak to a live person who was helpful! He is returning a fancy card he bought for his computer that just stopped working for no apparent reason. He had a tough time figuring out who to speak with and they were also very nice and fine with replacing the card that doesn’t work.

I guess we’re 2 for 2 today!

I have been lurking on this thread, but it has inspired me. I purchased my first ever pair of designer shoes today at my local Nordstrom. Gucci black patent heels originally $650 marked down to $259. Very comfortable so far :)

Saks email only sale -check your promo folder! 70% off stuff. That’s my kind of a sale! Got a gorgeous Max Mara skirt for $160. Down from an arm and a leg! ;)

Got D two pairs of comfy PJs with flannel bottoms and T-shirt tops. Only $9.99 apiece and 5% off because S charged them on his Target card and I paid him back cash! These and yoga pants and one other pair of slacks should give her more lounging around home clothing. ;)

Also got call from insurer about the bill for D’s lab services–originally they said it was not covered and we had to pay over $1K. I spoke with insurer and they did research to link lab with her Dx and paid the claim–our copay–$0!

We (D1 &D2) went to Saks’ 50% off sale, only from 9-12. Everything marked down was another 50% off. D1 got 10 things for under 1000. A lot of dresses were marked down from 500+. I got a nice Ellie Tahari jacket for 120 and 2 cashmere sweaters for around 100 each, originally 4-500. It was a zoo. D1 said it was like a war zone. We were exhausted after few hours.

I also went to Ann Taylor, got 2 pair petite pants for 35 each. They were originally 100+. Very good shopping day.

The best buy was one cashmere throw I ordered from Macys didn’t get to me in time for xmas. It was sent to my mom’s house. I called them up to see what I could get from them for the screw up. They offered to send another one to me for free and also gave me credit for the throw.

Wow. I am still pinching myself trying to figure out if I’m dreaming or not. While browsing fashion blogs, I saw a picture of a jacket paired with my new skirt, liked it a lot, and googled the jacket only to find out that it was too expensive and too hard to find in the US. I have no idea why I checked the online storefront of a well known UK retailer first thing Christmas morning, but there it was - the last one available, in my size and on sale, 70% off. Long story short, the jacket “has left the store” according to the email I just got. I will stop pinching myself when I get the box. :)

Great shopping, oldfort!
