I just got my Penzey’s Spices catalogue and the freebie of the month is a totally new one Roasted Garlic sprinkle. The promo code is 43953C for a 1/2 cup jar. I usually order $30 worth of product to get the free shipping and everytime they also include a free small size jar of a spice or blend, which is nice.
I like the cinnamon blend of 4 (although the individual ones are good too), peppercorns, bay leaves, double vanilla extract, chicken taco seasoning, 33rd & Galena Street Rub for chicken and pork, Mural of Flavor is really good salt free bit spicy for some people though I am not seeing something hot in the ingredients, I might try the one called Forward. Cake spice or Baking spice is pretty nice for cookies and spice cakes, and the Beef Roast seasoning is great for pot roasts, the Chile 3000 I use for my Black bean Turkey Chili. I have a few that are more or less successful. Don’t find the Bangkok blend tastes like much Asian, does not have the nuances of the lemongrass it is supposed to have. Maybe that, like cilantro is one that is not even there when dried.
My good deal of the day was the fact that I was ready to switch tax preparation software because Turbo Tax was charging way more this year for what they always charged before. Patsmom on this site told me about Vanguard’s deal of getting it free. So I did. Saved me $54.99 from the cheapest place I could find it before her suggestion. And that was a special deal for Amazon Prime members. THANKS!!!
I love it when the deals posted here can be used by others. Not so thrilled about the deals that just make me jealous
@yellowgranite: It had not expired as of this morning. But you have to put it in your basket and then go to checkout to get the price. It does not show up without that step. It also has a deal where you get an additional 10% on your refund it you get it on an Amazon card.
@3bm103, I still can’t find the Vanguard software. Is it under a different company name? I looked at all 20 pages of tax software and found nothing from Vanguard. Plenty of Turbotax products though. Is there a skew number of some sort. I did a search on Vanguard on Amazon … Nothing having to do with taxes. I must be doing something wrong. HELP!!!
^^ @yellowgranite56, for the free TurboTax software from Vanguard, if your Vanguard account qualifies, go to the Vanguard site, log in to your account, and go the the right column, where under “TAX SEASON” you will find a link for TurboTax.
Most Vanguard clients will receive discounts of up to $20 off Intuit’s list price on TurboTax® tax filing software.
Flagship Services and Asset Management Services clients will receive complimentary access to the Federal: Basic, Federal: Deluxe, and State: Basic products. See details below
Note: To qualify for the Vanguard discount, you must access your TurboTax® OnlineSM return from this page each time you log on to continue or finish your work."
I have used TurboTax for my filings for free for years, courtesy of Vanguard.
Yes. We’re talking two different deals. For the free turbo tax from Vanguard you have to go through the Vanguard site like JEM said. You have to have a Flagship account for that price, but other types have greatly reduced prices.
For the $54.99 Premium TT from Amazon, you have to be a prime member and you don’t get the special deal until you go to check out. Before that it shows up at $79.99.
Costco also has it for $54.99 until 1/29/15 but you don’t get the additional 10% if you get all or part of your refund on an Amazon card.
We have a Vanguard account and Amazon Prime AND Costco. It sounds like Vanguard is the best if we have the flagship account. Geez! A lot of work to save money to pay taxes!
TaxACT is only $20 or so, and that includes a state return. If you don’t have too much stuff that has to get pulled in from last year’s return, It might be worth it to switch.
Simple returns can be done online for free but I prefer having the software on my PC.
Seeing a lot of good deals on Mizuno women’s running shoes lately, both online and in person. For example the neutral shoes wave rider, creation, even prophecy (high end shoe) marked way down. Wanted to pass this on because I’m pretty sure there are some others here who are also fans of this brand for running shoes, and it’s very helpful if you can find them on sale!
A few possibilities for the Mizuno shoes: Running Warehouse, Finish Line, 6pm, and Amazon online, Dick’s in person (don’t know if that one was just the location I visited).
