Ha!!
All of Mr. Bās glasses are transitions. The transition is not instant, but pretty fast. He says the T 1/2 of complete transition is about a minute. Since the process is not linear, it takes a total of about 5 minutes. He would not have any other lens (his are also progressive lenses). Unfortunately, for driving, he needs regular sunglasses, because the windshield glass blocks almost all UV light.
Some great limited time deals on Kindles for Valentinesā¦$59 for the most basic!

I got a deal, not a buy, but thought it might help some of you: A few days ago I read in the business section of the NYTimes that Verizon was lowering its rates on shared data plans. So I called and was easily able to adjust my plan to save $10 a month on the exact same amount of data. I was also able to keep the additional promotional data of 1 GB per line that I negotiated a few months ago. The woman I spoke to was great and suggested that I go down one GB since I never use the full amount. So now I am saving $20 per month - $240 per year. The article in the paper said that it is a limited time promotion and you do have to talk to Verizon to make the change. Seems to me that they should just automatically adjust everyoneās rate if that is the new cost of the plan.
Puzzled88- What number did you call? I have been hunting for an actual number at Verizon Wireless and it seems hidden to me. My dh is on the account and I need to make this easy for him to do it or it wonāt get done.
Am on holiday right now, and needed a midsize SUV rental (like a Rav4). Found a great deal on Alamo for 5 days for $181. Then they didnāt have the midsize SUVs available so we got a Ford explorer almost brand new (2015) which actually is more helpful as we can fit more people/stuff. So 5 days with a fullsize SUV for $181. When I first looked at pricing for these vehicles they were about $700.
Onward: 1-800-922-0204. It is printed on my bill. You can have your dh add your name to the account so you can make changes, buy phones, etc. I did that.
About the online glasses, Iāve had trouble for years finding the right fit in local stores. It was great to be able to search online for my size range and have an actual choice instead of settling for the one or two a store had available. Among the frames I ordered online previously, thereās only one that I regret which is no worse than my prior experience with local stores. In that case, I failed to realize how significantly the narrower nose bridge would affect the look of the frames so even though the fit is okay I donāt really like them. Fortunately, theyāre computer glasses that I wear at home and no one sees me in them. ( I swap them out for my distance glasses when talking to dh, mostly so I can actually see his face clearly but also out of vanity.)
Few local stores carry non-PRC made frames, except for ones where the total cost is well over $250, so thatās another reason why I liked ordering online.
Was shopping for a gift at Nordstrom last night and fell in love with a gorgeous silk chiffon scarf. I was ready to pay the full price, but it came out 50% off! The SA was surprised, too. Burberry? Nordstrom? 50% off? I ran out of the store as quickly as I could in case they decided to change their mind.
I got a cashmere scarf/muffler from Macys for $20 regularly $110 (charter club)
It is a limited special so no coupons can be used.
After living with transition lenses for years and being frustrated because I was still blinded while drivingā¦Transtitions has come out with new lenses that shade while inside your car! Iāve had mine for about 2 weeks and can say that they really work. They are not 100% shaded- only 50% but it works much better than the original transition lenses that would āunshadeā while driving. The new lenses are Transition xtra active: http://www.transitions.com/en-us/products/transitions-xtractive/ . They do stay about 10% shaded while indoors too. I thought this might bother me, but I hardly notice and I think it helps my eyes at work because the fluorescent lights donāt bother my eyes as much.
The other plus to these lenses is that I donāt have to switch from driving sunglasses to inside glasses when Iām going from building to car to building.
Frames that arenāt made in China?!! Wow, thatās a plus!
Sorry, I would not trust any claims about the origin of $3 frames (or even $200 ones not sold at reputable places). Eyeglasses is the #1 counterfeit product.
Iām sure youāre right about some frame brands/retailers. The ones I bought are Roberto Cavalli and Iāve purchased the same brand from a trusted bricks & mortar store; they also werenāt $3. I canāt speak for the online storeās other offerings. I also like my Tom Ford frames, which are (marked as) made in Italy. I hope neither one is a knock-off.
Puzzled88- my husband called Verizon and like you, he downgraded our data plan and got the deal. $20 savings per month! Ka ching!
I had a 10Gb data plan with Verizon, which they bumped to 15Gb for free. That plan is no longer available, so to save any money Iād have to drop all the way to 8Gb. Iām not cutting my data in half, so no discount for me. Rats!
Ann Taylor cashmere sweater, $98 reduced to $19.98. I still canāt believe it.
Woot! Score! Well, we will all have free credit monitoring due to Anthem breach.
We had some BCBS claims in affected states. ARGH!
Our whole family will get that free credit monitoring. Iām not sure I think this is a āgoodā anythingā¦even buy of the day. Itās certainly not anything I would have gone after!
Well, it is FREE, but sad that so many millions of us need it.
I am in a funky mood with all of these hacks & the broken fibula and trying to see any silver linings.
