Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

At this point, I have “free” credit monitoring from Bank of America, and Target too.

Enough is enough!

DH had free credit monitoring from Home Depot through the same company doing it for Anthem. The company tacked on an additional 24 months (for Anthem) after his Home Depot credit monitoring runs outs, so he’s covered until May 2017.

I figure pretty soon we’ll all have continuous free credit monitoring the way all these breaches keep occurring.

It does make one lean toward just saying heck with it and freezing all reports. ARGH!

If the CC companies would get their collective thumbs out of their collective you-know-wheres and roll out chip-and-pin cards, 90% of credit card fraud would disappear overnight.

H complained to the insurance “retention” person about their raising our rates by $30/mo after his only accident in 20 years and threatened to leave them. Not only did they remove the raised rate, they reduced the whole thing by a total of $50/mo. They “found” a little known clause that “allowed” them accident forgiveness. Which, btw, the traffic court said we did not cause.

I know someone was looking for LL Bean coupons…they have 10% off and free shipping again.

I just started my coverage with Anthem, but they didn’t upload my information until few days ago, so I kind of dodged the bullet. I wonder if I could still get free credit monitoring.

Simple, quick call to verizon and $10 a month deduction to our bill- no changes to account.

A year of the LA Times delivered on Thursday and Sunday for just 9 bucks.

WOW mom60! I still like to get our local paper and every year have to call them to get a more reasonable price than what they try try to bill us for.

Jym- I recently cancelled our local paper after 27 years. Every year it got smaller and smaller. The last straw was when it reduced to just 2 sections and didn’t reduce the price. The funny part was when I called to cancel they didn’t even try to talk me out of it.
The LA Times as a 24 hour special deal on Living Social. I just got lucky since I rarely open those daily emails.

Thanks for the Verizon Wireless info! I was able to get the $10 reduction with no changes to the plan, online.

Congrats to those who benefitted from the Verizon deal. I was in our store today and asked but apparently our current deal we have isn’t available anymore and is good in and of itself (???) 10G of data for $80.

If you have a BJ’s near you but aren’t a member, there’s a great deal right now on Living Social. Cost is $35 and you get a $25 gift card.

Box of Starbucks morning blend Kcups, on sale and with kohls cash, for $2. Box has16. Didn’t it used to have 18?

Xiggi-
Rue la la has the kitchenaid 5 qt artisan mixer for $249.99 today

Nespresso on Ideeli

jym, I just ordered the KA mixer in yellow! I’ve been wanting to get a new one for years, but couldn’t bring myself to spend the money. I have one but it hasn’t been working well for a long time. It is mechanically unstable (it wobbles and the plastic on the blade has worn off in places from contact with the bowl) and it produces brown grease from the head, so I have to clean it before every use. Apparently it is food-grade oil, but still.

Thanks so much for posting this!

About Verizon, I found out last time I got a new phone that I can get 15% off my bills because of where I work. So check with them to see whether your employer is covered. I was surprised that mine was.

H talked with Verizon and they gave him 2 more gigabites for asking.
Then we were at the store and I asked that our contract be looked at and they lowered it $25 a month.
Also, had planned on getting H a new i6 but found out from the bank teller that his i5 had a battery recall. Apple fixed it for free the next day. The recall ends March 1.

We have that 15% discount - very nice, though I can’t imagine our bill being 15% higher!!!
