Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Ah, the Hawaii version is $9.99 with free shipping! The offers have really gone downhill over the years and it’s rarely buy one, get one free any more, only a % off or a set amount off if you spent $xx. Haven’t used them since our kids got out of grade school and we no longer sold them as a fundraiser for the school. Was finding more and more of the coupons were for places that went out of business.

Ours was also $9.99 but only $7 with the promo code: COMEBACK. True it’s not nearly as good as it used to be, but they used to be $35

Bought niece a Kitchen Aid mixer from Costco. It was on coupon, last day was today. It is a 6 qt. bowl -lift stand mixer with a 1hp motor. It should last forever. It was $50 off so my price was $299 + tax. On the Kitchen Aid website, it’s much higher. Also, because it was from Costco, the couple can get their money back if they prefer and also get an extended warranty because it was purchased with the Costco AmEx card.

The less expensive model with the 5 qt. bowl at Macy’s is nearly the same price but doesn’t have the bowl lift, which is a nice feature for serious cooks like the bride! I’m very pleased!

They also had coupon discount for Tony Roma’s ribs (which H loves), and fruit drinks that are in small bottles. I splurged and bought those, as well as blueberries which were fairly reasonable, $5.49 for 18 ounces (decent for HI).

The best coupon book is the Colorado “E” book. Funds go to the educational system and you can get 2 for one ski lift tickets at most of the desired slopes, rentals as well as all the other standard discounted stuff…

Yesterday I went to a Neiman Marcus discount place. I got a dress that was originally something like $255 for just about $25, including tax. I was thinking of you guys as I bought it. I also got some Lucy Hatha leggings on sale for $29 from $89 (long, so can’t wear them for several months, but had to get them because they were so cheap).
I got some other good deals, but those were the best.

alright; my good buy - bought my mother-in-laws car for d17. its a nondescript little old lady car. 20K miles; perfect spotless condition, 10 yrs old. $3k. hoping it will last awhile.

This isn’t a good buy but a question for the bargain shoppers. I’d like a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. I’m wondering if there is anywhere that I can find a discount? I will pay retail, but if I don’t have to…

It may be available at Costco–its sometimes in stock at ours. Otherwise, maybe TJMaxx or Ross or Marshalls MAY carry them.

Got mine fromAmazon but do not think it was a real savings. The pair before that I was able to use the allowance that H gets for each member through our HMO. I was surprised that it was not just for prescriptions. Loved that.

I was shopping at the craft store near my local Value Village and stopped in-found 3 pair of capris for a total of $11.50. One pair was Lee and was only $1.50 today. I’ve lost a little weight and have had to donate many of my summer clothes and it’s supposed to hit 80 here this weekend, so the timing was perfect.

“I’ve lost a little weight and have had to donate many of my summer clothes”

Awesome. congrats.

@sseam, I think that weight you lost is hanging out with me -
Feel free to take it back

Trust me when I say a LITTLE, but I am working on trying to follow the Hungry Girl diet, from her newer cookbook, not the actual diet book. For me, it mostly means eating far more fruit and veggies than I used to. I’ll work up from there. I have a long way to go though.

You know how they say, it never hurts to ask. I went to Sunglass Hut and told them I wanted to buy this particular pair of sunglasses but wondered if there were any discounts. The kid said he needed to ask his manager but he thought he could give me 10% off. The manager had a $50 off coupon, I was happy.

I have not been a fan of Macy’s lately but I don’t mind their shoe department. It was buy one, get the next pair 50% off. Then because I used my Macy’s card, I got an additional 15% off. I had a $10 Macy’s money on top of that. Got 2 pairs of sandals for less than the sale price of one.

Macy’s is on my bad list these days. I ordered a pair of white espadrilles from them, that were more expensive than I’d like, but I really wanted them. I got my normal size, and needed a bigger size, so I called customer service, and they gave me the sale price on the bigger size. I got them, and they were the same size I ordered the first time. As I said, I really wanted them, so I tried again, explaining my issue. Just got the third pair, and guess what? Same wrong size. So I have three pairs of the same size, and I GIVE UP.

1214mom. Macy’s is such a mess, they probably couldn’t find the right size!

I am so not a fan of Macy’s. Poor customer service pretty much anytime I go there.

Every little bit counts, sseamom, don’t be shy. When the organism gets used to eating more veggies, junk will not look as attractive as it used to be.

Oh, Nordstrom! The dress I bought on sale was further reduced, but they would not give me the extra discount. Irritated, I returned the dress. Returner’s remorse made me look, and it was sold out… Magically, 2 days later, one - in my size! - appeared online. I quickly bought it… It was shipped to me from the store where I returned it! Same dress. Shipped! What a waste of shipping supplies. But I have my dress, and it looks better on me than on the model in the photo.

Macy’s is a royal mess, agreed!

Really Macy’s is just a mess. The lingerie is actually pretty OK but other than that and the Hotel line of linens they are a mess. And even then try to find a clerk to take your money. That said the clerks are always pleasant. So there is that.

My good buy–returned a ceiling fan to Globe Lighting (local? not sure) and when there noticed a floor lamp on sale and have been looking for one. Original price $189. Sale $129. The manager I had been chatting with then said that for 3 days, his store only, was selling clearance for 1/2. So walked out with this lamp for $64.50.
H and I really like it. It does not work where I need a new lamp but looks great in a place where I hated the old lamp.
Pleased.
