Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Yes^^^ convenience. My kids actually love the frosted ones!!! Not a replacement for homemade, but my kids arent’ turning down free frosted cookies!

Here’s the thing. For a total of $6.99 you can TRY and SEND 6 cookies. Like them? Order again! Don’t like them? You’re out a total of $6.99 and chances are they will still eat them, still like getting a “you’ve got a package!” notice and still be thankful you thought of them! Pretty good deal for $6.99.

For $6.99 you aren’t going to get many cupcakes or cookies delivered from the local bakery! (though of course that is another great idea!)

Found a pair of Sketchers Bobs at meijer today for $12.50. They are comfortable and while not my favorite (not a fan of bobs being a rip off of toms), I’ll get use out of them for 12.50.

My shoes came today. Perfect fit. Only took me a year to find them.

Congrats, raclut! And you don’t have to haul the shoes to the store, so it is a double-win.

Got a random 20% off coupon from Saks and quickly used it on stuff that never goes on sale: basic tights and undies.

Today only (Sept 25) Amazon Prime is $67 for New Members.

OK, savvy Macy’s shoppers, give me your opinion. D lives in Nashville and has established Macy’s as one of her registry sites. Wedding is next June. She has twice mentioned that she is worried they will close all stores as the items she has on registry are constantly on sale and she doesn’t understand how they can continuously discount Kitchen Aid mixers, Spode china, etc. We know they are closing a number of unprofitable stores. Thoughts?

Even if they close the stores in her area, the registry will still give folks an idea of what they want. If people buy the item elsewhere, they can call Macy’s to have the registry indicate the item was purchased. We bought many items at Ross and Costco and had the Macy’s registry indicate the items were purchased.

Amazon also has a bridal registry, as does Bed, Bath & Beyond, as well as Williams Sonoma and other stores.

I LOVE Amazon wedding registry’s and would suggest that to any people that are planning a wedding. It’s become uncommon (at least in our area) to bring gifts to weddings so people are forced to just give a check/cash or mail something. I can usually get more for my money AND free shipping via Amazon.

Yes, folks love shopping via phone or computer–my bro bought wedding gifts for niece while we were at a dinner party while using his phone.

My super buy of the day: used the free upgrade certificate we had from Alaska and got kiddo a business class ticket from SEA to BWI for under $200! She can skip the lines at the airport and bring 2 checked bags for free (and possibly have a mimosa).

Last month I splurged on Cole Hahn black suede sneaks, though got them on nordstrums sale. They are the only shoes
I brought with me to Boston. So, arrive at FL airport 6:00a.m., and sat next to a woman who called out, “we have on the same shoes!” Turns out, she bought them in 3 colors but only brought the black with her.

Signed up for Amazon Prime with the previously mentioned special offer. To sweeten the deal, they were offering a $70 Amazon gift card if you open an Amazon Visa account . . . So I did! Total amount paid after tax was $1.02. (Who knew there was tax on memberships?)

Ordered a pair of very fancy (very!) shoes. Had a big buyer’s remorse, decided to look at the alternatives… The style I ordered is sold out! Say waaaa?!! If they fit, I am keeping them.

Bloomie’s F&F sale is on! Use code FRIENDS to get 25% off.

My good buys today were at the farmer’s market - people in the midwest, GET TO YOUR MARKETS! It’s a great time of year to purchase and the prices here are GOOD. Cabbage heads the size of a bowling ball or larger (no kidding!), $1. Green peppers 3 for $1. Quart baskets of banana peppers or jalapenos, $1. Leaf lettuce, huge bunches of kale, $1.50. I bought this petite sized sweet potatoes - the farmer told me to carmelize an onion in butter, add chopped petite sweet potatoes w/skin on and saute and then near the end, at fresh kale. Salt and pepper. Can’t wait to try it!

OMG, abasket! I am jealous. Great buys!!!

Expensive for me but maybe a good buy for Saks Fifth Avenue lovers.

I got a $3 bag of m&ms snack size (for halloween) free today from CVS.

^^That’s my kind of deal!

Thanks, raclut! I want that $700 card. But bummer I do not have $3,000 to spend after pre-paying for the kiddo’s temporary housing!

Jym, aren’t you going to share your CVS M&M windfall with your fellow CCers?

My other good deal were packs of peanut m&ms snackpacks for $2.20 each-- bought a bunch for halloween, but only one of the free plain ones for those who might be allergic to peanuts. Happy to share those!! I have many bags of he peanut m&ms!
