Sounds like a great deal and lovely, @emilybee!
The DVF dress sounds perfect for the wedding. I bought D2 a DVF wrap dress at Nordstrom Rack on Black Friday during an additional 30% off clear the rack for $59! The price tag on it was $495. It was the only one they had in the store and it is a size 0 which is just a little large for her, but she still looks great in it. She canāt wait to wear it as she starts interviews for fashion internships.
^ Great deal!
Good luck to your D with internship interviews!
I have been done Christmas shopping for weeks, but I was off today and couldnāt help myself. I got a free full-sized lipstick from Aveda, plus a $10 shave lotion thing for free from bath and body works (it doesnāt smell awful like much of their stuff). Plus I got a tie for free after weird discount at Lord and Taylor, and about 10 pairs of nice socks from J Crew for $30. Maybe I got more, because most were in the 2-3 range, and they are nice socks. I even went into my favorite expensive junk jewelry store to pick out an ornament for my husband, and the one I liked was 70% off. I got some $100 jeans from the Lucky store for $20. I only tried them on because everything in the store was 50% off, so I would have paid $50, but they were already discounted. I also got a couple of cute very casual shirts from there. I hope Iām not too old for that store. I also got some other stuff, but those are my best deals. I am now really, really done. (And my husband may be upset that I keep buying for kids, but he wonāt complain too much because he didnāt have to shop at all this year, except for my present).
Whatās a TJ Maxx runway store? Would love to find a DVF dress at TJ Maxx prices!
Today, went to Costco and found and bought 2 spice racks with 20 glass & stainless steel bottles filled with spices + free 5 year refill on spices and rotating rack for $20 apiece. I will probably donate the rack and put the spices in our built-in wire shelves to replace our decades-old spices. Our S will get the other rack and set of jars.
Target gift cards are 10% off today.
I used another of the 20% off everything coupons at Ulta for my daughterās favorite fragrance. If I donāt give it to her for Christmas, it will hold for her early-March birthday.
I know many of you hate Macyās, but I love Macyās.
Did some shopping online land received $40 in āMacyās bucksā, a promotion they were doing that gave you money to spend this week. One item couldnāt be shipped but I could pick it up at the store. Off to the mall, got a parking spot 4 spaces from the door so was feeling lucky. Item was there, but I asked if it would be cheaper to just buy it from the store. It was about $5 cheaper, so clerk refunded my online purchase and I used some Macyās bucks and paid only $6. Then the magic happened. Found 2 pairs of earrings I wanted which were $135 but with the sales and coupons came down to $46. I wanted to use my $40 from online shopping and the computer didnāt show it. Manager came, things started flashing on the cc terminal ($46, $38, $17, $28, $11.99, $2.19) and he handed me the earrings, said āHere you goā and handed me the earrings and a gift card with $7.09 on it. I asked if that was what was left of my $40 and he said no, that money was still there but he used a different coupon. The earrings were free and he gave me $7 back (Iām not sure why). I told him I wanted to buy something with the $40 this week and he handed me $50 in coupons to use in case my other ones donāt work.
How can you hate a store that just hands you money?
For Cheesecake factory lovers. Today only 12/21 if you purchase a $25 e gift card from cheesecake factory online you get two passes to use to get two free slices of cheesecake or cake.
If you buy a gift card to be sent by mail then you only get one pass for a free slice of cheesecake.
Do yourself a favor and purchase an e gift card.
^^ Haha - S just called me on that offer - heās buying it for his sisters!!!
@abasket The free slices of joy come in email to the purchaser. It will have the purchaserās name on it.
Iāve done the Cheesecake Factory gift card deal in the past. Even though the email for free slices of cheesecake came to me, I just gave it to the recipient of the gift card. Cheesecake Factory doesnāt ask for ID to prove who you are before accepting it. They had not trouble getting the free slices, even though they werenāt me.
@shellfell Thanks. Good to know that. I wouldnāt want them having any problems using the slices of joy.
Well, thanks to this thread, I now have 5 $25 Cheesecake Factory gift cards and 10 slices of joy! Woot! One will go to a friend who mailed a package I hadnāt expected. Iād caution folks that theyāre severely backed up with their orders and you have to be sure you get all the āslicesā youāre entitled toāI was only emailed one and had to call the toll-free number to have them email the 2nd one. After that, I ordered 4 gift cards and am waiting for them and the silces to appear in my inbox. I will make a pdf and forward them to the recipients, as Iām not trusting UPS or USPS at this time to get things to my intended loved ones in time.
Theyāre very backed up. The first order was processed pretty quickly and the email appeared in my inbox within about 5 minutes, with an email for ONE slice of joy. After I called them, they send the 2nd slice of joy. This 2nd order for 4 gift cards is taking much longer. When I got through to the menu on their tollfree number, I hit option 3 to speak to a live person and they āre-sentā the 2nd slice of joy that I had never received. I printed the gift card and both slices of joy and will give them all together as a present. Iāll do the same with the other 4 gift cardsāprint them or at least make a PDF and email them.
OK, make that six cards for $150 ā and 12 āfreeā slices of cheesecake, 2 apiece to go with each card. This is a dangerous thread.
@himom Enjoy the cheesecake. You may want to print out all 12 emails with the slice of joy and keep them with you to use. I think they expire end of March 2016. Itās a good deal considering each slice is about $8 to $9 each.
How can you not LOVE āslice of joyā!???
I am gifting the slices with the gift cards. I think it should allow each recipient and a guest to eat a meal with dessert for little cash with the $25 gift card. I printed out everything, but made pdfs for the one woman I sent a card with her 2 slices (she lives on the East Coast). I should see the others I am gifting.
I have 14 of these from Black Friday. I may have each of my kids get another today, so the coupons will have some different names on them. Iāve gotten the card slices before, and we would all use them at the same meal (up to 5 at a time - Iāve never had 14). Iām sensing it might be harder if all of the ones I have are in my name.
