@sseamom We discovered a Goodwill yesterday that we hadn’t noticed before. I found a J.Crew men’s button down shirt ($4), J. Crew t shirt ($2), dress from Urban Outfitters ($9), Express t shirt ($1) and Havaiana flip flops ($5).
Used my last 4 slices of joy today. 2 were part of my Easter basket for son who’s home.
I agree Staples is difficult. We called them yesterday, and were put on hold for SO LONG we finally hung up. Tried twice, and probably held for over 30 minutes (doing other things at same time).
hrh19- The item I wanted was a Target item, but they have discontinued it. I should have bought all of them when they were in the store
D needed new boots for work so went online at Shoebuy and found her a pair of Wolverine work boots. She works at Meineke as the oil change, tire mount and balance person…Boots were $150 less a 25% off eggstra25 coupon code less a $20 rewards credit which brought them down to $92.46. Used ebates and got 12% back = $13.50. Cost for boots after all rebates= $78.96. Woo hoo.
I was emailed a coupon for Zappos to get $25 off any purchase. I found a cute $30 diaper bag for my niece (expecting baby girl in weeks), plus 3 pairs of Thorlo socks for $45. Total price with the coupon was $50 and free shipping. I’m happy!
I know that sometimes Thorlo has sales on socks, but the price for the combo and the diaper bag mailed to us seemed pretty good.
We were at an out of town wedding over the weekend and stopped by Nordstrom Last Chance in Scottsdale. This is where everything goes after the Rack or some things that were worn and returned from the regular Nordstrom stores. D2 bought a Marc by Marc Jacobs Hillier Hobo purse for $61 (retail $438 at Nordstrom). She also got a cute cotton summer dress Splendid brand for $15. D1 got a pair of suede Lucky Brand boots for $15 and a pair of Sam Edleman sandals for $10. I got a pair of Paige jeans for $15 and a Rag and Bone jacket for $22. So not a bad weekend!
Groupon $10 Starbucks ecard for $5. Worked for me right now.
@deb922 “not yet available” here
Looks like it sold out. Sorry
@1214mom, are you near any outlet centers that have Long Champ Stores?
Lucky Brand has up to 70% off items. I received a VIP email and purchased a leather purse, a blouse, two leather belts and a bracelet for $112. Full price retail for these items is $417!
There are longchamp outlet stores?
Annoyed that I didn’t buy one when I was in Europe, didn’t do any shopping and didn’t realize they were cheaper.
@ECmotherx2, I didn’t know there was such a thing. I Don’t know that I’ve ever even actually seen a LongChamp bag in person, but I’ve read enough from people here that it made me think it would be a good gift (with a gift receipt).
@1214mom, because everyone raved so much on CC about Longchamp bags, I bought D one on sale at Nordstrom’s. She made me return it as she thought it was nothing special and WAY over-priced. My relatives bought fake Longchamp bags when they were in China. Honestly, they look very like the “real” ones and are a small fraction of the price.
I also bought D some other bags from Nordstrom’s Rack and Costco and other stores. The only one she wanted to keep was a simple crossbody bag that was on coupon from Costco. She just wasn’t a fan of the other bags.
I like getting gifts for others from Costco, as they are excellent about returns (at least the store by our home), even with no receipt. Pretty much everyone I know is a member there, so getting in to return anything is no problem. Nordstrom is pretty good about returns as well and will re-credit however the item was paid for, even if no receipt, if you know what card was used. Not sure what happens if the purchase was via cash.
@HImom, thanks. I appreciate the input. BUT, I’ve decided I don’t know her well enough to really judge or stress about getting just the right thing, and we live 5 minutes from the mall, so while she’s visiting it would be an easy return. My son will make sure she understands it’s really OK if she returns it.
@deb922 – there is a Longchamp outlet store at Woodbury Commons, about an hour north on NYC. I have only been in there once while shopping with a friend & her teenage daughter. I don’t think the prices were all that great but I don’t fully appreciate the product.
Woodbury Commons has many brands that are not in other outlet centers so I do not know if there are other Longchamp outlets.
Looks like a Longchamp outlet in Chicago area??: http://us.longchamp.com/store/united-states/longchamp-fashion-outlets-chicago
I have to say I wasn’t paying attention to when the bag was needed lol! But if one can wait, Nordstrom usually has a Longchamp bag as part of its anniversary sale.
Starts July 22. Also sometimes there are friends and family sale at Saks and Nordstrom will price match. Also occasionally rue la la will have Longchamp.
Interesting about Longchamp outlet stores.
Abasket - the one you linked to is in an outlet mall near O’Hare (I’ve never been to it but pass it most days).
A local thrift shop had a fill-a-trash-bag-for-$5 day today to make room for summer clothes.
In my bag: a Columbia fleece jacket, a Columbia fleece vest, a Patagonia jacket and about 10 other misc tops and jeans, for myself and the kids. None new-with-tags but all in perfect condition.
