Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

@raclut Maybe another store can remove them? I bought some Sears trousers for a wedding for my son and we didn’t realize until we got to the wedding venue that the checker had not removed the magnetic ink security tag. We went to a mall looking for a store that used the same system and Forever 21 was willing to remove them when I showed them my receipt from Sears.

My two jackets came separately, the second today. All good.

Apparently only @jym626 is cursed with the good buy of the day! What did you do @jym626 to mess with the good buy mojo?

No unfortunately we don’t have a Bonton in our state or nearby states.

Just take the jacket to any store that uses same type tags. The SAs at Nordstrom are always happy to do this for me.

Of course, Mr. is always happy to use his tools to pry these tags off. Then he has fun disassembling them.

I do seem to have my share of “good deal” challenges. But I didnt mess with the mojo. Seems cc ladies drained their supply! What they told me is when the warehouse is empty they check the supply in all their stores, which is why shipments may come from several locations. Am guessing @raclut 's jacket with the tag came from a store.

My first jacket came in plastic, folded flat, like an Amazon purchase. My second (bluebell!) came not in plastic and folded differently. I think you’re right about the store.

@OHMomof2 I had the same experience. One was folded flat in clear plastic but my bluebell folded in the delivery bag.
My assumption is that it came from the store with the security tag on it.

The tag is a drag @raclut!

I was the first to order and I’ve received shipping confirmation for just 3 out of 4 fleeces. If the 4th doesn’t materialize it’s no big deal. For those that had item cancellations, did they notify you? My orders are supposed to arrive by Monday. They are taking their time getting to California!

If anyone needs a small microwave for a dorm Walmart has a Hamilton Beach one on sale for $35 right now. It’s 700 watts and .7 cubic feet. I’d buy one but we’re flying and it’s too early to ship directly to the college.

@Undercovermom1 we got our DD that same bargain microwave last August at a Walmart near her school. So…just check the brick and mortar stores when you get there. There was a HUGE mountain of them at the Walmart I was at…choice of black or white.

Also double check with the U. Some places provide fridges and/or micros and some ban them completely. Our kids U provided each place with a micro/fridge combo, we students didn’t bring random appliances. The best thing was it was already there and you just left it there at the end of the year.

@HImom unfortunately from what I understand, at D16’s college students are on their own with regard to microwaves/fridges and there aren’t rental options.

Good that you checked it out. Wish more Us had these basic appliances as standard–seems wasteful to do otherwise.

It seems the large University in the area uses a rental company. I checked their prices. It’s more cost effective to purchase a micro/fridge for use all four years.

I purchased an old fridge and sold it when I no longer needed it for about the price I had paid, so net cost to me for my use was $0. Did the same with clunker bikes for campus. The great thing about clunker bikes is that no one ever wanted to steal them, so that was one less worry! They were also very solidly built.

The rental price at my son’s school for fridge/microwave unit was $200/year!!! I think I bought a smaller fridge for $69 at Wal-Mart. Of course, I now have to store it until I know if his brother will attend college within driving distance.

One of my kids’ school provides a “free” microwave and fridge in each dorm room for the price of $62K in tuition, room and board.

Yesh, our kids’ tuition and fees were very high, including the “free” fridge/micro–cheaper rates would have nice.

Call me crazy but I decided to order two more jackets from Bonton.
Daughter absolutely loves them and now I’m getting some for her cousins.
Medium was a little big but it will work out just fine.
They seem to have some stock at this time. Even though I am paying a little more I think it is worth it for the quality.

Code DOT30APAREL brought the price down to $15.74 but for me it was still worth it.
