Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

@oldfort – I really like the look of that but is it a carry on? The product description says Medium checked. May just order it anyway as it looks great.

I have one that’s just slightly bigger and I use it as a carry on. Few times I was stopped because it looked big, and every time I passed the test. The one I have has 2 wheels instead of 4. It is an older version. I paid over $100 for mine on Gilt 2 years ago. I could fit a week worth of clothes in it.

Thanks @oldfort! I love the color…

And you are a much better packer than I am.

It gives the dimensions, which are larger than the carry-ons I currently use–very attractive.

I love Lipault also but it still weights over 7lbs! I am looking for a carryon that weighs less than 5lbs.

Update on the peaches: the $0.99/lb ones from Sprouts were meh (maybe I am spoiled by the ones we just had from the farm) so there is a peach pie in the oven. The $0.69/lb ones from Whole Foods are still ripening.

It does give the dimensions as 23" x 16.9" x 9.4" and most airlines state 22 x 14 x 9 as allowed. I guess you can take your chances.

But beyond that, it is a discontinued color! How last year.

Yum peaches. I don’t think any fruit in my city is ever 89 cents a pound.

For carryons under 5 lb, check It rollers.

My Travelpro carryon weighs less than 5 pounds. And I love it!

BB - what do mean?“check it rollers”
The one I have now is a bit bigger in dimension, but because it is soft, whenever they’ve asked me to put in the bin to see if it is within regulation, it always fits.

“It”.

That’s it - It.

Their 29 inch roller was under 5 lb and survived 2 trips around the globe.

I had no idea Cole Haan outlet gave discounts to students - 20% Niece got some awesomely comfy sandals and pumps.

@BunsenBurner – I think the Cole Haan college discount started last year. I was pleasantly surprised also as this has become my older son’s ‘go to’ brand for casual shoes. By casual, I mean anything beyond flip flops or sneakers.

RL and J Crew outlets also offer college student discounts. I now ask when I have my sons with me.

J Crew regular stores do also, but not on top of the 50% off sale price.

Ok I got my .99 peaches today at Ralph’s (Kroger). Von’s is a rip off at 1.99/lb. They were good, though.

I miss cheap fruit :frowning: I miss ripe fruit even more. Last time I tried buying local peaches at the farmers market (really the only way to get ripe fruit here) they were $3.99/lb. I also miss affordable farmers markets.

Really…the flat of 11 peaches I got at Trader Joes were delicious…and just perfect for eating. $5.99 which I thought was a great buy.

@Undercovermom1 - I’ve gotten excellent peaches all season at Krogers. Frequently on sale at $0.99/lb. The Sprouts and yes, the Trader Joes that I got were disappointing. Thumper1 was lucky - her TJs were good. Will wait to see what the Whole foods ones are like. Otherwise-- more pies or cobbler or crisp.

I’m a PYO peach picker. I’m planning to hit the orchard tomorrow. Today I canned a dozen little jars of jams from last weeks pickings!

We don’t have a lot of native peaches here in CT. But the ones we do have got hit by a very COLD frost in mid April…we are talking zero temps or so. We lost a LOT of things this year…forsythia didn’t get yellow flowers, early rhododendron didn’t bloom, our lilacs didn’t bloom…and the neighbor’s peach tree has NO peaches on it!
