Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

^ Hertz Gold service offers the same. I walked up to the counter at the airport, into the Gold line (one person ahead of me rather than 10 in the other), and was handed my keys and bye. Being a gold member doesn’t cost anything.

Budget Fast track and Avis preferred also offer the quick pick up service.

@OHMomof2 we didn’t even have to go to a counter. We walked up to an area with a bunch of vehicles, all w the keys in them…picked which one we wanted (loved that!), put our luggage in and drove to the exit where they scanned something from my husband’s phone and we drove off. It was the fastest and best rental car experience for us…ever.

It was a sweet deal for us. We don’t always rent a vehicle on trips and don’t want to have to do a minimum number of rentals per yr.

@CAMidwestMom . I just ordered my first dress from stylewe. I typically wear a 4/6. I ordered a large after noticing the measurements of the model and size she was wearing. Maybe I could have managed with a medium, but I selected based on shoulder width since that part of the dress was fitted. Not sorry I sized up.
I noticed that the Style We size chart was different than the size chart for the dress itself.

@jasmom THANK YOU! I ordered it and followed their guidelines, so here’s hoping. It’s a beautiful dress. So, you got your dress? I am probably 8-10 and I got an XL based on their guidelines.

Here to review my crazy Baubax windbreaker jacket from post #8475. I’m keeping it. The pockets and zippers are good although the sunglasses pocket isn’t quite big enough even for my reading glasses (maybe they designed it so the top of the glasses would stick out so you could grab them easier?). My giant iPhone 6+ in its Otterbox case barely fits into the phone sleeve but it does fit. The blow up neck pillow is great and easy to use but does not stay in the hood so I will carry it separately. The pen/stylus zipper pull is just hilarious!

The only problem is the sizing. I wear an 8 or 10 and usually go up a size or two in jackets so I can have adequate shoulder room. I have kind of even proportions, shoulders to hips, and I’m neither pear shaped nor the opposite. I ordered the largest size they have 2XL, just to be sure. It’s nice and roomy in the shoulders and even chest but the hips are just barely roomy enough. If I had ordered a plain XL it would have been too small! I was warned about this by reading the comments so I’m glad it worked out.

Must have stumbled on a date sale! Booked fall break and Christmas flights and only spent $250. I still need to do the airport shuttle but that will only add $100. It is my lucky day!!

My Brighton watch and broke. Went to the store. Even though they no longer sell the watch, they supposedly have 72 of the bands in their CA warehouse for replacement…$12.

But wait…for anyone having a Brighton watch…they now replace the batteries there for $2! Right in the store! I’ll be going back with the two watches I have with dead batteries. The jewelry store charges a LOT more than $2 to replace them!

My daughter booked her flight home from UK for 600 (British A) I don’t think we ever had a non-stop that cheap, so I’m happy. ; )
I also found some nice sheets at BBB that were discounted twice and then had 50% off sticker on them, high thread count and nice feel to them. (about 22 after discount) and then I had 20% off an item.

Today is the last day of the SW air sale. Snagged 2 trips for the price we usually pay for one. Going to get to see that new grandbaby more often

Starbucks is having a $3 special from 2 to 5pm. 9/22 to 9/25

Madi Pantone cakes are available at Costco now for under $6 apiece. They are seasonal, so we are thrilled to get them as soon as we see them. They’re like a raisin bread with little bits of canoed fruit–heavenly!

Panettone? Love that stuff. I always get it for Christmas and Easter.

Today is free museum day at museums all across the country. Go to Smithsonian.com and find your city and see a list of museums that are participating. Then print out a ticket good for 2 free admissions. H and I are going to the Seattle Museum of History and Industry. We will be getting 2 $20 admissions for nothing.

Senior day at the thrift store today. My mother got two Ethan Allen chairs that exactly match her dining room set, for $7.50 each (marked $14.99 but today is 1/2 price). I’m sure these chairs would cost $250 each, but since her set is 50 years old I don’t think they make them anymore. They are in better shape than the chairs she has and she has needed one extra for years as one of the originals broke years ago.

Thanksgiving is saved! We can all have a chair.

Kitchen aid mixer at Tuesday Morning for $199.

I haven’t been to Tuesday Morning in ages. In my hometown we had this store called Amazing Savings and they truly were. Loved going to that store.

Saks’ F&F sale is scheduled to run from Oct 6 to Oct 9. Kind of early this year… The usual 25% off, with tippy-top high end designers excluded.

Had $5 from Kohls to waste spend. And Weds, is senior citizen discount day. Got a $32 Vera Wang top, on sale, with additional discounts, for $1.26.

Bloomies and Bare Necessities - 25% off FF happening now.
