Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Have $25 in kohls cash yet have not idea how to spend it.

Don’t buy more fleece jackets!!

To use Kohl’s cash: Socks and underwear? Godiva chocolates?

Brand new waterproof trench off RealReal. 'Cause a gal can never have too many trench coats, especially if she has someone who likes to shop her closet.

Kohl’s cash - I second Godiva chocolates!!

I think I “win” for deal of the day today.
Was doing “power returns,” today and had several things to return to Nordstrom Rack.
I was returning a dress, which was originally $160. I had paid maybe $65 for it, but decided I might not ever where it (it’s a pretty “dressy” dress).
The woman laughed when she was returning it, and said it was now $.01.
Yes - 1 penny.
And she let me re-buy it.

Walmart had fitbit flex on sale for $40 (was $90). Youngest D wanted one and we walked all over the neighborhood.

My car! Got a really awesome deal with two rebates and some negotiation. Whew!

Also got a $50 Target gift card just for test driving it. I actually wound up buying from that same dealer a week later, so win-win.

I imagine the gift card deal is available on a lot of cars, noticed something like it can only be used once per dealership once every 6 weeks. But maybe in a few weeks I’ll take a test drive of something else just for fun

Not as great a deal as 1214mom but I bought a North Face down vest for $79 (retail $149) at Tjmaxx.

I posted this on another thread, and people were interested, so I’m posting here too.
Costco is selling Uggs slippers this year. I don’t know if they are in the stores, but you can order them on line.

I see Costco also has knock-off Uggs on sale for $20, compared to the Uggs for $64. Free shipping. It would great to compare the two side by side, but frankly, I can’t imagine spending $64 for slippers, unless they had a multiple year guarantee. Has anyone tried both?

I have a pair of ugg loafer slippers. They are probably 10 years old now. They are in almost pristine shape, the sheepskin inside has molded to my feet, they keep my feet warm yet they don’t sweat.

It is asked, why buy a name brand item? Especially slippers? Because after 10 years, they have held up and held up.

My H got a pair of slippers that he liked but they were torn to shreds after 2 years. Last year I asked and his mom bought him a pair of wicked slippers from LL Bean, so far they have held up very well, much better than the cheaper pair.

I could spend $20 every year on a new pair or spend $100 for a pair that’s still going strong 10 years later.

The reason I’m skittish about buying expensive slippers is because I just threw away two pairs of high quality slippers that lasted maybe three years each. I kept them both for years, even though there were holes in the soles, because of how much I paid and thought maybe I could replace the sole. I realized, however, that replacing the soles would be just as expensive as buying something like the Costco ones. The ones I threw out were these: http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/23777?feat=511913-GN1&page=women-s-wicked-good-slippers and these: https://www.amazon.com/Lamo-Womens-Carmen-Bootie-Chestnut/dp/B00B69G2F6/ref=sr_1_11?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1476192601&sr=1-11&nodeID=679433011&refinements=p_lbr_brands_browse-bin%3ALamo I thought about taking the bean ones back to the store, but I really didn’t remember when I bought them and I wore them all the time, so I probably did get my moneys worth from them.

@walkinghome I thought LLBean had a lifetime guarantee, you could have gotten your slippers replaced perhaps?

We took a pair of my sons shoes back to our LLBean store and while they were gracious about replacing them, their question was, “Do you think they wore less well then you expected?” Since they were just a year old and coming apart, the answer was an easy one. However, since his shoes had been discontinued, they couldn’t replace them, but he got store credit for that amount. When I thought about my slippers, I feel that I got my monies worth. I never expected them to last a lifetime.

I have both Ugg Coquette slippers in black and the Costco identical looking knockoff slippers in black. I bought them at least 5 years ago (the Uggs were purchased earlier). I can discern no noticeable difference in comfort, fit, quality, and wearability over time.

Gosh, my Ugg’s only last 1-2 years. The shearling completely wears through and
as they are mules there are no liners available.
Last year BB&B had slippers for $39. I bought two and now the liner on one is
losing it’s pile. I do wear slippers a lot but still

I need to get back to BB&B as They have worn just like the Ugg’S.

Just ordered a $100 iTunes gift card for $85. The $50 gift cards are $42.50. No shipping fee. http://www.staples.com/100-iTunes-Gift-Card/product_970602?externalize=certona

Well, yes, the Uggs and knockoffs wear out in the heel. I belong to Sam’s and not Costco but have friends who belong to Costco. This time at $20 for the Ugg Coquette slipper knockoffs I want to stock up if they are sold in the store.
