We made some last minute plans to go skiing over the holidays. I booked a room with a “flexible cancellation” policy that was 20% off. Found a better discount rate at 35% off, called the resort and they honored it as I was within the 48 hr window of booking, so cut the cost by $450!
Best Buy is running some sales on Apple products including iPads. I know some folks mentioned looking for iPad deals. I don’t follow the prices on them much to know how good they are but it might be worth checking out.
I bought 8 large rice cookers at Costco for $30 apiece for our Angel Tree. Lots of seniors requested them this year. The pot will double as a slow cooker. It also sautéed, summers and steams. The Angel Tree folks were thrilled!
I also bought 16 metal Duracell mini flashlights @ about $4 apiece at Costco that I’m giving to my support group members as a little stocking stuffer at our parties today and Tuesday.
Just bought a fitbit charge HR at Target- regularly $129.99 for $49.99! (It is advertised online & I had to have it price matched at the service desk) With cartwheel- there is even an extra 10% off!
Pretty much everything Christmas related is on sale at Michaels. Most of what I picked up was 50% off, but some of it is even 60% off. If you got the Sunday paper with the coupons or printed one off from their website, you can save even more. It’s going fast, though. The gift boxes were a great find-sturdy square and rectangular and in many sizes.

Thanks for this tip. I ordered online, except that I couldn’t get the free yurbuds to load into the cart, and it would only let me pick up in two different stores. I’m planning to just go to one and take whatever size/color they have. I called customer service and I couldn’t get them to help me.
How did you get cartwheel to work? I have it, I get emails, but I couldn’t get the promo code to take it (is there a different code sent by an app? I figure it is worth it to have a manager help tomorrow.
I do not know much about the cartwheel except that it is an app on my phone
and a few times a nice clerk has asked me if I have it and they scan it then ask give me my discounts.
Oh–and they would not let me order online but named the local store as my only place to buy
in an entire metro area.

All very courteously done. Only issue is they could honor one per person. So H bought one and I bought one which was silly as while our cc#'s are different the account is the same.

Thanks. It let me buy two (fitbits) but the colors are at different stores. The yurbuds wouldn’t work whether I wanted to order online or pick up. I kept asking the customer service person if they would honor it at the store, but since she was from the Philippines and English wasn’t working as a common language, I figured I’d just ask at the store.
I think this fitbit isn’t made anymore and these are the last. I gave my daughter one for Christmas last year and she’s on her third. For the last one they sent her a newer model as the Charge isn’t made anymore (the bands break all the time). She’s hard on it because she wears it everyday and works out with it on.
Blah! I missed it. It’s still on sale but for $77.97 now.
I have to go pick them up at different stores. We’ll see if they’ll give me the ear buds and the extra 10% off for cartwheel. If so, even a better deal.
