Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

^^I am a light fiend, and a timer and dimmer fanatic, yet I have no idea what you are talking about. Going to peruse their website now.

EDIT: Ha, ha. I have that, just don’t call it that. Like the prices you saw.

Thanks, abasket! I am going to check it out because we are almost out of gift wrap. That big fat roll from Ikea lasted a long time, but alas, it was not bottomless.

I saw someone use the fairy lights as ribbon on a package, it looked so pretty.

I like those lights, great deals too at target. I had some around a candle in a hard to reach spot, the batteries last maybe 2 weeks. I had them on the timer too.

These were the lights - available in copper wire, silver wire, colored lights, etc. They literally had hundreds of them! Just nuts because during the year my girls have ordered them from Amazon and paid much more! I bought some myself for about $8 before Christmas! http://www.target.com/p/philips-30-ct-dewdrop-fairy-string-lights-clear/-/A-15316376?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&CPNG=PLA_Seasonal+Shopping_Brand&adgroup=SC_Seasonal&LID=700000001170770pgs&network=g&device=c&location=9015099&gclid=Cj0KEQiA7qLDBRD9xJ7PscDCu5IBEiQAqo3BxIqoxtchXR-6GFqiASpFoF6bWpiuTp7Tvh2mpK2IChgaAt4G8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

Papyrus had all their individual holiday cards 70% off. I bought several for next year.

@abasket - I love those lights. I will see if there are any at my Target tomorrow.

@Barbalot - I will check out the Talbots sale. I have never been disappointed with a Talbots purchase.

Had the Best Burger at a nice restaurant for their Happy Hour. Just delicious for $8.
A glass of wine for $5.

I wanted to buy “2017” New Year items on sale today and save for a May graduation but couldn’t find anything left at Target.

Any suggestions?

Our Target did not have any NYE stuff to begin with… Do you have a Party City nearby?

Thanks! It’s in the same strip mall as Target!

@BunsenBurner

I wanted to buy something for a baby shower gift from Target, where the mom-to-be is registered. I found it for less on amazon. Just as I was comparing, a chat box popped up on the Target site. I asked if they would price match. He said he would check on it. When I sent him the amazon link, he said yes, they would match that price. I still got my 5% discount for using my red card and saved almost $20.

I bought shower gifts from Ross and then called Macy’s and told them so they could get medicate the gift was already purchased (even tho not she their store and did a fraction of the price).

Great typo…“medicate” the gift!

Check Hobby Lobby for wrapping paper. I got 100 feet for $1.65 or so. If your store is out, full price is $8, so with a 40% off coupon it would be $4.80. My sister used it this year, it’s nice and thick, so sharp corners don’t tear.

No Hobby Lobby near us, but we always go to Target, Michael’s, Walmart, etc. right after Christmas and load up on wrapping paper. Hard to pass up when it’s 75% off or so.

Today’s big deal was a 25" spinner suitcase by Olympia at Goodwill for $20. Not super cheap, but a fraction of it’s new price. We got D those Tote a Ton bags for move-in and they’re great-hold an amazing amount of stuff and weigh nothing. But they’re hard to carry and have no shoulder straps, so she wanted something with wheels to take her winter clothing back to school. Mission accomplished, and it’s even a nice color-lavender. She’s swabbing it out with Clorox wipes now.

^^^Ooh! A fraction of the price, indeed, @sseamom. Happy swabbing!

I would not buy anything at Hobby Lobby even if it is a screaming buy. But that is just me.

The hunt is ON! Saks discounted their fall merch 70%.

Something to tuck away for next year - my daughter went to Costco on Christmas Eve and picked up two boxes of their very good Belgian chocolates. At the register she found out they were half price. Apparently they marked down the chocolates sometime on Christmas Eve, but didn’t advertise it on the signs. The check out person told her all Christmas stuff was half price!

I stopped in Target a couple of days ago and picked up four or five Prank boxes for next year: https://smile.amazon.com/Prank-Pack-Earwax-Candle-Kit/dp/B016V6TAZC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1483455641&sr=8-2&keywords=prank+box The two I got for Christmas this year were a hit and I was going to buy a couple on amazon (where I got the original ones) and then tuck them away with the Christmas wrap, but thought I’d look on-line to see if they had them at stores I normally shop in and saw they had them “in-store only” at Target with the Christmas discount.

@walkinghome Check bed, bath & beyond. I have seen them there on after Christmas clearance. I have never used them for Christmas gifts but have used them for birthday gifts. After the holidays they are sold for $2 or $3.

@raclut , Thanks for the tip, but I don’t have a B,B&B near me. Target is convenient and none of the boxes I got were more than $3.00.

I saved a LOT yesterday at my Target. The Christmas shelves were almost empty…and what was left probably will get donated to Goodwill.

So…I spent $0.
