Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Ordered two for D and SIL. Thanks @HImom for the tip.

Wow—we should get a commission! I’m very pleased about the quality of the 3 backpacks I’ve received. They look sturdy and like they will hold the things I want on the plane.

Just bought an Icebreaker.com tank top for me and a tshirt for D that are both mostly wool. I like wearing it when I’m a bit cold and it REALLY makes a huge difference. Both were on sale for 50% off with free shipping if you purchased over $50, so of course I purchased the two items to get my total > $50. I use the tank top as a bottom layer when it’s slightly nippy and find I don’t need to wear as many layers. I’ve even been wearing it when temps are in the low 60s in Hawaii. I don’t believe D has any wool items and I find that Icebreaker clothing does not smell or itch, plus their things are machine washable.

@HImom - you do realize that posting about it being ā€œslightly nippyā€ in Hawaii could be seen as a humble-brag, don’t you?

Just kidding - I love Icebreaker.com stuff, too!

Nah, it means I’m a fragile creature and can’t take temperature fluctuations well. :). My SisIL introduced me to IceBreakers after her trip to Antartica. Several folks on the cruise swore by it and we found some of that brand at REƍ. I’m a great fan of most of their stuff.

I’ve discovered that wearing a woolen tank top under my garments helps me tolerate temperature fluctuations so much better, wherever I am. It is less bulky than piling on tons of bulky garments as well.

I saw a good bit of Icebreaker stuff in the men’s section at TJ Maxx last week. And socks.

At view your deal.com they have bombas socks half price. I love these socks but they are expensive. They come in sizes which is great for those of us with small feet. It’s today and tomorrow only.

This is through the view tv show. All one word. View your deal . com

Thank you @deb922 I have been wanting to try these, but couldn’t justify the price. I order myself two pairs

Dang–shipping to HI for 2 pairs of socks was $6.95, so I decided not to buy. It’s just too high!

The shipping was $6.95 to Michigan also, so not just to Hawaii. I figure I’m saving 50% I’ll pay shipping. But these are my favorite socks so I really wanted them.

Have you tried wearing them? I’m nervous about wool, since sometimes it makes folks itch and was going to buy them for D and I don’t know it will make her itch. Please advise as I’m on the fence about these socks. They are VERY cute but I don’t want her to itch.

This isn’t an extremely great deal, but it was a good idea for gifts for my office: I had a $5 off if I spend $25 at BB&B on my AmEx card, and the google minis are still selling for $29 there. Plus I wanted some Swiss Miss light hot chocolate for my Keurig, and … uh oh, just HAD to buy a godiva chocolate/raspberry candy bar to bring the price of the hot chocolate and candy bar up to $15 so I could use a $5 off coupon (no coupons allowed for the google minis). So I got the 5 google mini’s for the office, and was able to use the BB&B boxes/tissue paper/ribbon to giftwrap all 5 easily. And the cocoa for the Keurig and the candy bar. The way the receipt printed out, it took about $.90 off each mini (so the gift receipts will show a little over $28) and I then get the $5 credit on my AmEx. I like that gift better than boxes of Godiva or Ghirardelli or something. Hope they do too.

OK, I bought D two pairs of Bombas socks and me two pairs of the socks as well (that makes me feel better about the shipping charge as it’s spread among 4 products–LOL). Hopefully we will love them and it will keep our feet toasty when we are going places that are cold. I like that they donate a pair of socks for each pair that is purchased!

The bomba socks that I have don’t have wool in them. They are a very soft thick but not too thick soft sock. Hard to explain. I do have merino wool socks and sweaters and I don’t itch in any and I’m pretty sensitive.

Thanks for the heads up, @deb922. I ordered a whole bunch.

Yes, @deb922 , thanks for mentioning the Bombas deal! I’ve been wanting to try these and this is as good of deal as I have seen!

The Body Shop has everything 50% off online plus free shipping. Like their shea soap for my sensitive skin.

Eddie Bauer still has 50% off and free shipping. I ordered some camping lanterns for $10 each to use on the patio or when we lose power.

Amazon $5 off print book purchase over $15.
