Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

I uploaded my into too. The information was overwhelming and I immediately googled, “translate promethease data” to no avail. After awhile, I just contented myself with seeing that I had more good than bad signs.

I got a $20 card from Papyrus for $1 each. When I went to get them at the store they also gave me one free bringing it down to 80 cents each.

Sam’s club announced they are closing several of its stores, and they are having some terrific clearance sales. YMMMV, but we just got a couple of 6 ft. tables for $30

If feel badly for the employees of SAMs clubs. They go to work and see notices on the doors.

@raclut, I think I got a similar deal some weeks ago. I didn’t need them, but for less than coffee I have Christmas cards for next year.

Spotted Frye riding boots on sale in my size at Rack. Have always wanted a pair but could never get my wide calves into any - almost passed them by because it is so depressing to feel like a sausage, but a little voice whispered “you’ve lost weight and have been working out, maybe they’ll fit??” And lo and behold, they slipped on and up and over my skinny jeans, and I felt like Cinderella.

@yauponredux Yeah!

This isn’t a super great deal, but I needed a cake stand of at least 13" or more for an upcoming event, and will probably never need it again. Found one with a small chip in the edge (that I touched up with white enamel paint) that they gave me for $8.

60% off at Eddie Bauer.

Frye boots at my local rack stayed there for 2 seasons becuase they were still over 200$.

Found a really cool LeCreuset pot at the TJMaxx downtown. Had to pass because I did not want to lug it all the way home on the bus! I only go Le Creuset shopping with Mr. in tow. To exercise his muscle.

The parking lot was full and a line out the door to get in around 4pm so I’m not sure about the good buys but I heard that everything in the local Sam’s Club was 25% off since it is slated to close permanently on January 26.

Jym, you probably got a better deal than renting the dang thing. We need a CC sisterhood of traveling wedding/shower supplies!

D1 ordered something from Amazon that was supposed to be delivered today. Even at 7:55 PM it was listed as “out for delivery” and should have arrived by 8. It didn’t, and then the message changed to “your package is late”, estimated delivery between Jan 13 - 17.

The whole things makes me mad. D1 needs a trailer hitch to attach to her SUV and several people told her she could buy one at U-Haul, any auto parts store, even Walmart. It’s solid steel and weighs alot. Do we have to order everything from Amazon? Sheer laziness if you ask me.

And then UPS puts it on a truck and loses it? Or just gives up for the day? Ooooooooooooh.

Sorry for the long tirade but how do I go about complaining to Amazon and getting a small refund from Prime? Have some of you done that?

I did! I got a full refund for the not so inexpensive item that I was planning to give as a gift. It was “out for delivery” then disappeared into a black hole several times. I bought something else for a gift and then called Amazon to complain. Surprisingly, they gave me a full refund and told to keep the item if it ever arrives. It showed up mysteriously in a month.

“Sorry for the long tirade but how do I go about complaining to Amazon and getting a small refund from Prime? Have some of you done that?”

My guess is it will either show up tomorrow or by Tuesday. But contact Amazon and complain about the delivery day. I find the customer service online chat feature the best way to go. I’ve gotten a month extension on my prime or a $5 credit to my account. One time I got both.

In a month! Wow. D1 is moving soon and needs to use the trailer hitch to carry bicycles. She’s pretty chill right now but soon she’ll be stuck going to Uhaul anyway. Which might be the best outcome.

Is it UPS or USPS or Fedex? USPS (and to a lesser degree Fedex Ground) is notorious for pulling the deliver by 8pm that doesn’t materialize scam. UPS is usually more reliable.

Here, FedEx is the worst. It amazes me that their pilots and long-haul drivers do a great job, but then the local delivery goons totally screw it up. UPS and the good old postal service - knock on wood! - are quite reliable.

Fedex and Fedex Ground are run very differently. Fedex Ground is a network of independent contractors, hence the issues.
