@mit2024 don’t be too worried. There’s still hope. And even if you are rejected there are a million amazing opportunities out there. One summer is nothing compared to the infinite extragalactic possibilities out there. YOU CAN DO IT!!

@cbcbcb1 I don’t know how much credit do I really have because I mean i got rejected by SSP and COSMOS and I wrote similar essays for them…
I think my most appealing essay is the first one(why do you want to attend). I wrote a lot about how I am really interested in physics and how the opportunity of learning astrophysics is very limited in high school so I really hope to come to learn astrophysics at Yale during summer.I also wrote about how I am interested in Yale and I wanna learn more about Yale itself…and how I enjoy collaborating with people to solve difficult problems
@duoduo0619 Are you an international applicant? I applied to SSP too, but my decision did not come out yet.
I applied to SSP as international student cuz i’m technically Canadian citizen (I attend high school at U.S.). But i don’t think YSPA distinguished international student from domestic student.
@duoduo0619 No no you are the true legend if you got accepted to yspa and rejected by cosmos (is that even possible lol?)
Based on the people I know…COSMOS rejected a lot of highly qualified applicants but accepted some people who actually don’t care about science. I mean it’s hard to predict. I have heard people who got into Princeton but waitlisted at UCI so…
