Still no news from BC, Bucknell, Vanderbilt or Emory?

Wisconsin is calling some students inviting them off the waitlist. With the dorms already 100%+ booked I don’t believe it will be all that many–but at least some.

My son was advised today by email from his admissions counselor that Claremont McKenna will not be taking anyone from its alternate list this year. Letters were sent out on Wednesday/Thursday informing individuals that CMC was releasing its alternate list.

Our daughter received a letter today from Washington University-St. Louis stating that they were not taking any additional freshmen from the wait list.

I don’t think North Carolina State took kids off the waitlist. But letter was not the clearest.

On 5/18 son was advised thru his account on NC State’s Wolfpaw website that “space did not become available” blah blah blah.

I neglected to post this as I’m not absolutely sure the letter is saying that space did not become available AT ALL or if space did not become available FOR HIM.

And trust me, the blah blah part did not clarify. I did not attempt to clarify because we have OUR answer.

Son is happy and looking forward to University at Buffalo.

Anyone have any info on Wellesley’s waitlist? Haven’t heard anything from their admissions office in a couple of weeks…

BC and Bucknell have closed their waitlists. Colgate is offering a place on another
waitlist in case someone changes their mind over the summer…

Brandeis is still working on waitlist (offering spots). My S received call yesterday. He did not accept and they said they had a few spots so I’m sure more will have an opportunity. Good luck everyone.

I also received a call from Brandeis yesterday asking me if I was still interested. Has anyone heard news from Hamilton? The last time I contacted my representative she said they were in a holding period.

Vassar closed its waiting list.

Hello here, anyone have any news on the University of Chicago?

From their Admissions Blog:

Waiting List Update

Posted: 16 Jun 2011 12:14 PM PDT

To all of the students who have remained on our waiting list, thank you for your patience. We know how difficult it is to wait, and we are working hard to finalize decisions as soon as possible.

Transfers: We have now made final decisions for all transfer applicants. If you were on the waiting list, you may now log into your MyUNC to view your final decision. Letters will follow within the next few days. Because we had such a strong response from our admitted students, we unfortunately ended up having almost no space for waitlisted transfer students.

First-Years: We have not taken any further action on the first-year waiting list, though we hope to have more news soon. We promise to have final decisions to you by June 30, if not sooner.

Resolving the waiting list is difficult, particularly because every student on the waiting list is a student that we would love to have here. Again, we thank you for hanging in there with us. Please let me know if you have questions.

Cornell sent letters releasing some students from the waitlist, though I am not certain if this is by school or whether everyone was released.

Middlebury has closed it’s wait list. They are done. The official e-mail came out this AM.

DD received offer from Swarthmore today.

Am surprised Tulane went to wait list as they are over-enrolled for the 2nd year in a row

^^post #39 may have been an outlier or an unusual situation; it was before the May 1st depositing deadline…

Thats probably it, rodney. That happened last year too. A few hand-picked folks from the waitlist.

Vanderbilt sent letters saying they will be closing their waitlist next week.

Today is UNC Chapel Hill’s waitlist deadline, but still nothing. Does anyone know if they will let people know whether it’s a yes or a no?
