2011 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

to chloe–
we have to log in to our accounts on the scholastic website, and then i expect we’ll find our results on our ‘dashboard’ or something? not sure bout the specifics, but we have to log in!

^Are you sure? Where did you hear that?

i ended up finding it on the website. you have to go to the main page and then click on the blue box that says like announcing the gold keys. and then you scroll down the page to the paragraph that says national awards to be announced in march and then it tells you everything

Hey guys…tomorrow’s the day… By the way, glassesarehic, did you say you’re in the mid-Carolina region?

can we find out tonight at midnight…or will they send and e-mail?
uggggh, this waiting is rough…lol

Aha, thank you!

Yes indeed.

A girl asked this question on the Facebook page and they said they’d get it up by mid-morning to put everyone out of their misery.

its up!!!
didnt make it though, but I still feel proud of my regional gold key.
good luck to you all!

I am so happy for my daughter, she won a Gold Medal! Good luck to all and congratulations to all the National winners!

Congrats to everyone who received gold keys and national medals :)

I got a silver medal

gold medal :D

Were our teachers notified of this?

I won the New York Life Award. Ahhhhh  dies in paroxysms of glee

Congratulations to everyone else who won!

(on a side note: does anyone know when/how scholarship winners receive their money?)

No portfolio medal for me :/.

@ intrinsically, I’m not sure if teachers were notified or if my daughter’s teacher looked on the website to find out. But she called my daughter’s cell phone, while she was at school, taking a test, to tell her she had won a Gold Medal.

I feel really sad that I didn’t get anything nationally recognized. I worked too hard for no reward. Sorry, I’m a sore loser. Congrats to everyone else, though! I’d really like to read some winning writing!! Post message me with your work if you feel comfortable!!

I would love to also read any writing that was sent in!

You can read winning writing (and see winning art) from last year here:

Also, you can see a bigger selection of last year’s winning writing here:

My son got a National Medal (silver, art portfoilio) – woohoo! We’re all happy. Now he needs to record some audio/video greeting … or something about his work (?). Has anyone done that yet? Is it pretty straightforward? Do we need special technology? He has a Mac laptop – will that work?

We didn’t do the greeting last year–they only use a few of them. But I suspect he could record the greeting with the webcam on his laptop.
