2021-2022 USC Transfer

Hi guys, can anyone give some insight?I’m a ttp but when I first applied I got a 3.7 gpa but (3 a’s one B’s) but after this semester it will a 3.7 (2 a’s and two bs). Is that going to get me denied? I also had a SGR

I dont have any conditions

Also I’m pretty sure they use the intent to enroll form for all admitted students, like first-years, so I’m sure in our case it’s our college transcript showing our final GPA

Ok I was reading above and it seemed to some applicants had to keep at least a 3.5 GPA to be admitted. I think it’s because I have a lot of credits that it doesn’t apply to me.

that makes sense. I am currently a freshman on quarter system so

For spring 2022 admitted students, when do we have to submit our intent to enroll? Two weeks from when we got our acceptance letter or by august 1st??

I believe august 1st

So are spring applicants delaying graduation by one year then? How does spring admission work? I’m fall admission but I’m just curious.

USC has Fall graduates as well. The commencement ceremony is only in the spring

Does anyone know when they’ll send out this acceptance packages in the mail?

Should be this week.

Among other things, I tried that as well. I said that I was admitted for my second choice of sociology, but asked if I could be switched to my first choice of anthropology or another major entirely (my eventual major of computational linguistics). I was told that it wasn’t because my major was necessarily “full” that I was admitted for the spring (as others who were accepted after me got into the same major for the fall), but the admissions person I emailed gave no other reasoning as to why I was admitted for spring or why I couldn’t change majors. Either way, they said it would make no difference what major I tried to switch into. It’s just the luck of the draw I guess when it comes to spring admits.

Not necessarily. It really depends. Some people might have GEs or things like a foreign language to knock out that could be done during the fall. This would likely allow one to graduate on schedule. For others, yes, they would be unlikely to graduate by lets say spring 2023 for junior transfers. They’d almost certainly end up graduating fall 2023. Summer courses could help with this, but boy are summer semesters at USC expensive. You seem to have an option in participating in that year’s ceremony or the one next year, but there might be some caveats/rules. I was told by my program’s advisor that since I only had one class to go (which I took in the summer) that I would be permitted to participate in commencement for spring 2017.

so do you recommend taking classes in the fall if you are a spring admit?

Is it possible that there will be a second wave this week? I submitted my spring grades two weeks ago but still haven’t heard back yet.

Pretty sure you’re going to get in. For TTP, you just have to make sure your GPA stays at 3.6 and above.

If there are GEs that you can take, definitely. I had completed all but my two USC-only GEs so I just bummed around at home. I did try to look for a job, but by the time I finally heard back from someone, it was the start of the spring semester. So it wasn’t really a productive time; just an extra long summer vacation. I did take summer classes at USC though, so I sped up my time to graduate by doing that. If there’s anything I learned, it’s not to rush things. I had wanted to avoid staying for fall 2017, but I really don’t think it would have been bad at all.
