Oh man…but thank you so much! I sent in all of the requested documents shortly after submitting my application, and got a green checkmark on FAST, but they just keep requesting new ones. Oh well…
SCA Admissions previously informed me that decisions would come out “by” the beginning of June.
You could imagine how loose that time frame is but it only makes me suspect that we could hear back sooner rather than later.
I would imagine a contributing factor for mid-July applicants are students who received SGRs that are currently on the quarter semester system.
Ya, all you can do is keep sending stuff in as they ask. Everyone’s financial stuff is unique to them, and how they determine FA is unique to USC - so all you can do is give them what they want. Good luck!
It sounds like you are in a very good position with communication from those folks. Congrats on a 4.0 with everything you have going on.
Hello everyone, I wanted to come and check-in and catch up!!! I am extremely happy to hear all the new accepted Trojans!!! I will be truthful and express how sadden I am to not be apart of the celebration BUT i reflected and allowed myself to release all of my negative energy so I can focus on writing the best appeal letter I possibly can. I hope it’s compelling enough to shed a completely different light on myself as a person and my application. I submitted my appeal on Sunday… I am still fighting for a miracle. If anything changes I’ll be sure to update. Expecting to be here next year either way. Again congratulations to everyone who was accepted and for those who are still waiting, good luck to you and hope you hear news soon. FIGHT ON
So they just informed me that I don’t get any financial aid
estimated cost would be like ~$90k since I’m off campus housing. That’s a huge financial strain as a middle class student, and I def thought that my family’s income level would have warranted at least some financial aid.
But it also said additional info was required to process my application (Title IV form was incomplete, but the FAST page said the review of my application was already complete). Would that have any effect on financial aid?
Has anyone else found their AO to be short with very vague, unhelpful information?
@zettasyntax when ur sgr disappears in your portal does that mean u will end up hearing soon? Do you know by chance?
I don’t really know, sorry
The portals I used looked very different from what you have today. I had an SGR the first time I applied and it never vanished, so the disappearing SGR seems to be pretty new. From my lurking on here though, I’m not sure what the consensus is.
im still debating whether or not to transfer in the spring. I am currently committed to emory and they seem wayyy more welcoming to transfers (reserving on-campus housing, orientations, etc.) so I don’t really know what to do. usc was my dream school last year but I don’t know if it is worth graduating later and not being prioritized by the school
I would go with Emory! My BIL is the head of a department there. If they act like they want you, I would go there!!! I feel like that is so important!
Probably won’t make a difference Title IV are federal loans - Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loan, Direct Graduate PLUS Loan, Direct PLUS Loan, Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), Federal Perkins Loan, and TEACH grants. It does not include scholarships from the University or other private organizations. Sorry about the package, but wait till it is complete to be sure. Ya, the middle class pays their way, it’s tough.
Hi! That’s odd, would you be comfortable sharing your parents’ income and their assets? Usually USC gives good aid and there might be a chance to appeal.
Go to Emory or give it serious consideration. It’s a fabulous school with a lot of money (nice facilities, great professors etc.) You can graduate on time with all of your classmates. You wouldn’t have to worry about finding housing off campus in the middle of the school year or figure out what to do in the fall. There is something to be said for being wanted.
anyone receive there admission package
I totally agree, but I am honestly in love with usc. its so hard to balance the pros and cons of each school when I have never tried either out.
Agree 100%. I wish I had another option.
Anyone know when admission packages come
so no decisions today?
they better release some tomorrow
Right
I’m still waiting!! I hope we hear something soon.
