Hi everybody!! I apologize if this was asked before, but I wrote an appeal letter and I know I’m supposed submit it to the portal, but in the drop down menu, I’m not given an option of an appeal letter. How can I submit it to my portal so that there is no confusion over what I’m uploading? I already reached out to my counselor over this but crickets…
My daughter got the same emails. Not sure which date she’ll choose.
hi guys! I’ve been looking at all the recommendations people have been leaving regarding housing off-campus and I was wondering if anyone could explain how the pricing works. For example, I’m looking at West 27th Place and it says it would be around $2650 for a shared 2 bedroom/2 bathroom, 4 people living there in total. But does anyone know if each person is paying $2650, 2 people are paying $2650 or if that price is split between 4 people?
The $2650 is probably split between 4 people. The rent price per month listed for an apartment is almost always the total amount (which is usually split between people).
OK. I must’ve misunderstood. I thought you were asking why registration looked like it was going to take place on August 20
Well I was coming in with a bunch of units (about 100) so I had a lot of cushion to meet the 64 unit cap. I immediately knew not all of my classes were transferable though. Most of the basic stuff (like say math courses) usually transfer over without issue. You can always petition for them to accept a course if you didn’t receive credit for it and believed you should have.
please keep us update
You didn’t misunderstand lol. I wrote that before she received all the orientation emails. She’s registered for 7/29.
I’m curious @zettasyntax What was your major at USC?
That price is for one of the rooms that is shared. $2650/2 not 4.
thank you!!
About the cheapest rent you will find is around $700 for a room in a house/shared house situation. The complexes (Gateway/Icon/W27th/Lorenzo) tend to run between $1100-1400. Singles apts/studios for one person tend to run $1600-2100.
Generally speaking, but there’s the ballpark.
if you dont mind me asking, whats ur family’s income?
Hi, you should be able to click the link where it mentions the appeal. (towards the top) it will take you to another page and there is where you will submit your appeal letter.
I majored in computational linguistics. My username on here hints at the two interests zetta(byte) + syntax (my favorite field of linguistics, but also applies to programming syntax I suppose).
Hi @KendraVixLi , thank you for replying. I’ve looked everywhere and I can’t find a link. This is what the letter looks like where it mentions the appeal. Does yours look the same way?
did you do the financial aid calculator?
i DM’d you.
Actually, i might be able to explain… where it says “Status Update” in bold. There should be a link. The link will be a sentence that is “underlined”. I cannot remember what it actually says because when you submit it, it disappears from the portal. But you will click “the sentence that is underlined” should be right before you read “Upload Materials” section
Income doesn’t mean anything on it’s own. You can have zippo income, but if you have other assets, that changes the meaning of zero income. You can have tons of income with tons of debt, but you still have tons of income. It’s a complicated and very individual formula to get to FA at USC with them using CSS profile.
