I don’t think anyone heard any good news yesterday but the letter stated ā€œsome appeals were overturnedā€ so hoping that good news for someone on here

Let’s see if some sgr decisions post for you guys

Hello! I get why you’re stressed, I was like this when I got 2 B’s in biology and chemistry, which were huge classes for my neuroscience major as my first choice. I say to connect with your admissions counselor and let him/her know what happened and why u got that 3.0. You finished very strong first semester, which they will take into consideration. Whatever happens, everything is okay. I hope to see you around campus!

Wow thanks for that reply! Nice to know I’m not alone in this. Wouldn’t it be too late to reach out to my admissions counselor since decisions are right around the corner? Should I instead communicate the reasons for my 2nd sem gpa in my appeal letter if I were to get rejected?

I would send an email to your admissions counselor and let him/her know about it; it’s never too late. You never know if you providing context can shift the tide to you getting accepted. Because if you don’t send an email, you will always say to yourself ā€œwhat if I sent that emailā€ I say do it today. I explained my B’s even though it seemed unnecessary; I wanted to be sure and let usc know I’m human but I worked hard in a pandemic, and it was online. Hope this helps!

Whew okay! I’m gonna try my best to make a case for myself and do it. How long was your email if I may ask? I might need some general pointers lol

Send me a private message and I’ll give you my insta so we can connect and I can help/ screenshot my email so you can get a general feel of it. I just don’t want to blast the college confidential forum with all of this. Thanks and looking forward to your message!

Hope to see you on campus either this year or next year in the fall! Idek how or why you got denied? You seemed very competitive and I always told myself ā€œKendra is getting in cmon she has to.ā€ But USC missed out, like honestly, they made a mistake and I hope you get your appeal to accepted!! Wishing you the best. Also, if you would like me to help reshaping your app for next fall, if you need to apply next year, I would be glad to help!

My daughter got email about the housing assignment today of McMorrow Residential (The Village) which we thought was impossible. Since we submitted the housing application June 11 as transfer into 2nd yr. However we signed the lease with The Gateway Apartment. Does anyone know if we can cancel the lease?

Make sure u snag the spot at mcmorrow then cancel the lease… or hand over the lease to a friend who’s looking for a place

Yup, I guess it’s next Friday then. :slightly_frowning_face:

You think appeal decisions will be released next Friday?

I’m not sure because USC takes their own time for appeals because they have to first decide on the batch of SGRS who they want to admit/reject, maybe evaluate how many are accepting their admissions offer to like keep track of how many they are admitting for fall and spring, then make sure all official transcripts are in the USC database before a students designated orientation date/course registration with advisor, then they will tackle on the appeals.

I asked my admissions counselor about my official transcripts and she told me, in summary, they are working as fast as they can to process those. So hope this insight helps.
