Congratulations. How are the scholarships?

If you’re National Merit (which my daughter is), you get the full ride Presidential scholarship that covers tuition and housing. So, out of pocket for out of state is down to about $10K per year instead of almost 60K. They can’t give total full cause state law prohibits giving more to out of state than the max given to instate students, thus the 10K difference. A bargain for an out of state BS/MD program I think.

My Son too OOS and National Merit got into BS/MD in FAU . Any idea how many students are selected into BS/MD after their interview and how many finally get into their Medical college . Just curious as its an Assured Medical seat . Also approximately what will be yearly fees for OOS

good to know there is a national merit choice that gives a great discount for undergrad. At onetime anyone who got into this program was getting great scholarships but people have said these scholarships have been cut back quite a bit.

Yes, I don’t know about the past, but agree. I did find VCU to have a pretty generous out of state financial package for National Merit. Being from the south, National Merit is a big deal and carries a lot of scholarship money with it. Not so much on the East and West coasts. Glad we got VCU.

Thank you

Itseems they mentioned during the interview that 47/48 kids were interviewed for 10-12 seats …
Not sure abt the NMF scholarship part yet.

Who is this SRK? :joy:

Agree :100:. On paper Rochester is better school, maybe all kids do is study since there nothing else to do  Troy, NY looks like a ghost town.

What is appealing to my son is the option to apply out in case he wants to try for another medical school. I don’t think AMC or SKMC have that option. We are really torn between Rochester and SKMC..

Is this correct? The 2024-2025 LECOM EAP manual still shows min SAT requirements.
