***2024-2025 BS/MD/DO Students and Parents***

Congratulations!!! Very happy for you.

Congratulations and good luck!

I have created a RESULTS thread for parents / students to share their stats and results.

Current year parents and students - please share your details and perspectives in the RESULTS thread.

Thank you @itstimeee for sharing your stats and perspectives.
Congratulations, again, on multiple acceptances!
All the best.

@itstimeee - What do you think worked in your favor?

Congrats, amazing! I have a non-PLME premed at Brown and they absolutely love it there. It’s a great program. Good luck with your decisions, exciting time for you and your family.

chances of getting of BS/MD waitlists?

Since you are Georgia resident both BS and MD parts would be cheaper instate in Augusta or Mercer. That is a big chunk of money.

I think they mentioned due to scholarships at NJIT/NJMS, the difference is ~6-7K.

Some waitlists do move. Which program are you thinking about?

Even for MD part?

What about Union/AMC? Thanks

the undergrad has zero value in bsmd.

The waitlist is usually tied to MD. Some decide not to admit anymore even if their quota is not met after initial admits but some decide to admit to the full quota by adding via waitlist.

It moves - a lot of OOS students may not sign up for it.

Union/AMC tries to fill its 15 seats. So, waitlist generally moves.

how much? my daughter is in state and is worried because this is her last program. already sent LOCI. anything else to raise odds?

Can anyone help me with deciding between Stony Brook BS/MD vs University of South Carolina BS/MD? The cost is no difference and I am leaning towards a competitive specialty like orthopedics. Stony Brook is a 8 year program with a minimum MCAT score of a 504 while South Carolina (Columbia) is a 7 year program with no MCAT. But what do the experts think?? Thanks!

Congratulations. Both are strong programs.
Please visit both colleges - if possible on the admitted student day. Get a feel for the colleges, talk to students, faculty and admin as well as other prospective students and parents. See if you can be in that environment for the next 7-8 years.

Remember, you will not be happy in an environment that you dislike, and that will impact your trajectory.
All the best.
