This thread was re-created to match name to previous transfer threads to keep searching past years easy. They are always in this format…thanks to @usctrojansfighton for getting it rolling.
Welcome USC Trojan transfer hopefuls! This is a new thread for those who will turn in their app by Feb 2023 in order to commit (fingers crossed!) to USC for fall 2023 or Spring 2024.
Transferring is such a long process at USC and posters can really get to know each other - this thread tends to be very supportive - it’s collaborative like USC! Past successful transfers often chime in to share what they experienced. It’s exciting to see so many successful in their quest to transfer! We have seen friendships and future room mates formed on this thread.
I would suggest reading through past threads for some good info. You can search 2022-2023 USC Transfer - or earlier years as well, we use the same naming format each year so they are easy to find.
The transfer guide is amazing and has everything you need to know - including a worksheet that tells you which pre-reqs are required for your major. Follow those requirements and keep up the grades.
Go through everything they have there - it’s really helpful and answers so many questions. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your assigned admissions advisor with questions that can’t be found online; establishing a relationship with them can be a good thing.
Hey everyone! Didn’t see a thread already so this is a the thread for all people applying to the University of Southern California as an incoming transfer for Fall 2024. All discussion about transfer admissions, including the transfer pathways (TTP, VPP, MPP) can be here.
Does anyone know when they will start releasing Transfer decisions? Will it be the end of April or do they start earlier? I’ve heard that in the past some people don’t hear until early June.
My D is doing the Viterbi PP and I called the counselor to ask about something else but she mentioned for VPP, the admissions decisions will go out in May. I also noticed VPP page is gone from their website so I don’t even know if they offered it this year. Since TPP is being offered to everyone maybe things have changed this year?
@Westwoodusc Thought I’d throw in my two cents of what I know. I applied to the School of Dramatic Arts as a transfer and wasn’t sure when my decision would come (though I’m a transfer, I would be considered a first year in the Acting program). E-mailed admissions and was told I’d receive a decision or request for a grade update by 5/31.
Yeah, the admission counselor said mid to late May. I think in the past, the plan kids got their results late April but it won’t be this year. I hear sometimes you will have to wait until July. Good luck to you! Hoping you hear great news back. The wait totally sucks!!
Oh gosh, July?! Gag me with a spoon I am crossing my eyes, fingers, and toes they notify sooner Best of luck to you as well, and may the news be good when it comes!
I know you are young but man, what you just said reminded me of the movie “Valley girl” with Nicolas cage. I am from the Bay Area so that movie was kind of a trip for me until I moved to LA. Now that I live here, I get it now.
Some might hear next week, then continue on through the end of May. There does seem to be a couple waves before the end of the month with some Viterbi, Annenburg and Marshall putting some out there in the third week. And just before the 31st, the winds die down for a few days as they prepare for the big drop. But worse case is everyone hearing something by May 31st with applicants getting accepted, rejected or an SGR (semester grade request), meaning that applicant wouldn’t hear until they post their final grades. So some don’t find out till later June and even into July if they are on a late quarter system, for example.
The earliest would normally be next week, but with the time they had up to graduation and all the reconfiguring of graduation, it may be closer to the 20th for first shout outs, hope it’s sooner than later and for some it’s next week! They aren’t Google with endless employees, everyone is busy during graduation, it’s the biggest show all year!
