2024-2025 USC Transfer

hello, if it’s cool may i ask for your stats+ ecs? thank you

Hi, I had a quick question if you don’t mind. When appealing as a transfer, is it mandatory to send in spring grades? In the Q&A it says:

"To appeal the decision you should submit the items via the USC applicant portal within two weeks of receiving your admission decision.

  • A one-page statement from you telling us why you wish to appeal. We are most interested in new and compelling information that was not a part of your original application.
  • If you have not already sent your spring 2024 term grades, please upload an unofficial transcript showing them."

I didn’t take classes in the spring, so I was wondering if they would directly reject my appeal due to not having spring grades sent, or would they still read the appeal letter and reevaluate the application. Although it’s stated in the additional information of my application, should I send a short statement to reiterate that I haven’t taken Spring classes, thus don’t have grades.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, send you advisor that information and include it in appeal letter. They will read the letter regardless if grades are in or not. Those are checked independently (around same time, but they don’t check for transcript before reading letter and auto-boot you on that).

Hello,
Is this event worth going to or would it be okay to do it virtually. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As a spring admit I’m doing the virtual one. I think in-person would be a great opportunity, especially if you have a lot of questions. I know I’d probably be overstimulated (people, food, heat, etc.), and my major is kind of small so I wouldn’t meet a lot of alumni from it. Consider what is doable for you? How can you present your best self? What do you want out of the sessions?

Not necessary but they are nice if convenient. They are usually held at a very nice home of an alumni, ours even had some of the band show up. I see them as another way for your student to connect with other USC students from the area. And connections with alum are never a bad idea! So if it’s relatively painless to go, it’s a good social event that alumni make the time and effort to host.

Hi. Im a current first year wanting to transfer. However, I ■■■■■■ up and most likely will end with a D in one of my class and will likely end the quarter with a 3.01 gpa. Is there still any chance I can transfer to USC this year or the next?

I would be shocked if it happened for you. Sorry.
