2024 Decision Thread/University of Delaware

@sapmom i didn’t think my daughter was going to get anything either, $12,000 is definitely a lot better then nothing!

@“k_atherine.h” you can try, but I think 17k is the highest they go. My kid has 35 ACT and 4.83 gpa and tons of ECs and got the same 17k.

@Topcat123 , mind sharing stats and major for honors college acceptance?

i received the Trustee’s Scholarship for 17k annually
1390 sat and 104 weighted GPA OOS. still waiting to hear from honors though !

$17K Trustee here too. 1440/3.94UW. OOS IL. Definitely in the running.

Finally received our merit award. $19K Trustee. It makes Delaware extremely affordable. Now just waiting to hear about the honors college.

Yes! The amounts they have listed on the website by score/GPA gave me low expectations. She got the category I expected (Presidential) but the amount was way more than they have listed. With World Scholars as an option, this school just jumped up a few places on her list.

Also received the 17K trustee!!

oos (PA)
biology major
4.0 uw gpa
31 ACT

still waiting for honors tho

@NYYFanNowMTdad GPA 4.25 out of 4.3 UW (her school’s grading system is strange), 1540 SAT one sitting. Mix of honors and AP classes. Computer Science major. She checked her portal late last night and was awarded $17K/year so very excited and happy with that. She was accepted into the honors college in early December.

@jdhMom I would be surprised if your child does not get into honors. Mine received 17k trustee (35 ACT, 4.83 wgpa, lots of ECs/leadership including Eagle Scout, EMT, etc.) and got into honors. I imagine your child’s stats are even higher to have received 19k, and would therefore hopefully be invited to honors college.

@sapmom I’m not even sure which category she received. It’s about $500.00 less then what the lowest amount is for the Presidential scholarship. My daughter was accepted to the World Scholars program for Athens, Greece but I’m not sure if she’s going to do it. It would be nice if they studied abroad the 2nd semester that way it would give them time to adjust to the college and being away from home.

@Bech05 I was wondering, is there a seperate application for the World Scholars program? On my son’s portal it was noted he was recommended and could schedule an interview but I wasn’t sure if there was a seperate application.

Destination Delaware Scholar was posted for my son. $10K/year. OOS NJ.

@CUsucceed there wasn’t a separate application, there was a place on the portal that said she was invited to interview (something like that) and when she clicked on it, it took you to a calendar to schedule a Skype interview.
If accepted to the program there is an additional $500.00 deposit that you have to pay on top of the $500.00 to enroll at the school. She had her interview on December 2nd and found out on December 18th that she was accepted to the program.

@Bech05 Thank you!

@Bech05 what were your daughter’s stats to get the $12,000?

My DS really liked Delaware. He has been admitted to Engineering with a nice OOS Merit Scholarship. I am concerned about the 3.0 GPA to retain the scholarship. Is anyone else concerned?

@Claudelee i believe her gpa was 3.56 and her SAT score was an 1190. She didn’t want to try and retake it although she probably should have. Her gpa now is a 4.15

Do you get your notification that your decision has been made from an email then send or do you just have to check the portal?

Check the portal. We did not get an email or letter. I checked today and my daughter’s was there! Their portal will look different, there will be a new financial aid award button.
