2024 Decision Thread/University of Delaware

Super late to the train but accepted with 15k per year, Presidential award!

I got my result on Dec. 13th and I think I applied early (Although my portal says regular for some reason?) Got into engineering!

Basic stats:
4.1 weighted gpa
1270 sat
Tons of extracurriculars (Robotics, City government, School Newspaper, Teacher Assistant, Volunteer work)

OOS!

Still waiting to hear back from Honors. I’m hoping I get in, I applied out of curiosity but now I’m really starting to consider the college.

Does anyone know when I will get my honors decision by if I got my acceptance on Dec. 13th?

@plutorain It’s on a rolling basis. Personally, I got accepted on January 10th and received Honors decision January 24th. Seems to vary for everyone.

Acceptance dates seem to be partially related to major. Honors seems totally random. World Scholars comes within 2 weeks of interview, I believe.

What is the deal with the “do you want to change your major” section in the portal? It just showed up today.

Interesting, my daughter doesn’t have that on hers.

I submitted Honors on Jan 15th and got accepted on the 21st

My son’s portal had that and he was deferred to regular decision. Business major.

Got another “decision released” update for today. She got World Scholars yesterday, so all that’s left is Honors!

We applied RD.

Checked portal for updated info (accepted RD 1/24 (applied 1/12) been waiting to hear on merit and honor program app) - read “Decision Released: January 31, 2020” - clicked around in portal, discovered $17K trustee merit award (yay!), we are OOS. No email notice yet. Still waiting on honors program decision…

Daughter just got honors! So she got Presidential scholarship, World Scholars-Rome, and Honors, and a small University grant. So that wraps up all the info we need to hear from UD. We’ll be thinking hard about this for a bit, but this school just jumped over many others to be tied for first choice!

S Received A card in the mail today to apply for scholars and fellows programs. Does anyone know if you get extra merit money for any of those programs?

No extra money, as far as I know.

@sapmom Thank you.

Congrats to your daughter @sapmom! Email came in 8:30 p.m. tonight notifying of Honor Program acceptance. HP with Trustees Scholarship definitely puts UD up at top of the list right now. Sounds like we might hear about DiScho invites as we go into February.

EA OOS Daughter admitted via email tonight - 3.5 GPA 1250 SAT.

Best of luck to everyone in their process!

Portal was updated on Friday, asking for mid year grades. Ironically, the mid year report was sent by the High School earlier on the same day…

Does anyone know if all of the honors letters have gone out?

D20 submitted EA application in 11/1 but apparently her SRAR shows it was submitted on 11/13. Her admissions adviser said she was moved to RD. Portal says her application was submitted 14 weeks ago. She’s since been admitted to her top 2 choices for Nursing and has lost interest in UDel, recently said she will not consider it. We’re looking on the Portal to try and pull her application but don’t see that option. What do you all think, will an email to her adviser be enough?

I applied 11, nearing 12 weeks ago (RD) and still have Awaiting Decision on my portal. I’m OOS, 1350 SAT, 4.4/5 GPA, 4 APs, extracurriculars, and applied to the nursing program. Is this normal? Starting to get a little bit nervous lol
