2024 Decision Thread/University of Delaware

OOS Accepted.
Applied to Honors college AFTER acceptance … any idea how long will it take to get a decision (review is supposedly rolling)?

My daughter had the same problem, yesterday she realized (after she received her email saying she was accepted ?) that they sent her new log in info after she completed the application. Have your daughter check her emails for a change in log in info too.

Hello,
I’m awaiting my daughter’s decision and it’s nerve wracking! This is her top choice so I’m hoping she is admitted. Her application is at awaiting decision. Can anyone tell me what comes after that point? She applied 2 weeks ago and I wasn’t expecting them to be sending our decisions u til closer to the end of January. Thank you.

Can someone tell me how to see replies? I try to click on where it shows replies and can’t. I’m trying to read replies to my comment and others but can’t.

Same question. How do you see replys?

I think the reply number you see besides someone’s name is the number of replies they have posted.

To see the reply to your question, you will keep scrolling.
(I think).

@Bech05 I think the ‘2 replies’ next to your name means that you as a member replied/posted twice since you joined. If that is what you are referring to? It’s a tally of your activity.

I believe it is just the number of times that you’ve replied to a thread. If someone replies directly to you, they would tag you with an @ symbol then your name.

Thank you. I figured it out, I just thought I was missing other people’s responses.

It is nerve wracking and I keep nagging my DS to check portal. If you read the previous threads they are helpful. It goes from awaiting review, to awaiting decision to awaiting confirmation and the major disappears at some point. We are still awaiting decision.

Did anyone apply without submitting an SAT/ACT writing score? I know many schools are moving away from requiring the writing portion, but it seems that the University of Delaware still needs it.

I believe in state it’s optional and OOS it’s mandatory . Sorry didn’t see writing portion . I think only mostly Cali schools and ivys require writing .

According to the UD admissions page, the SAT writing is not required for OOS.

Does anyone know if legacy plays a role at UD? I’m an alum, and we are OOS, and I’m hoping my daughter has a chance with below average SAT, but high GPA and otherwise very strong application.

@ptptmom @arliegirl Interesting. I just checked the common data set and it reflects that the Essay is still needed and now that I’m looking at the university website again, they are saying the writing portion is NOT needed.

I always just go by the common app and school website . Schools constantly change things. I just hope we all get good news soon. Remember , this is all a crapshoot IMO. Glad they are releasing decisions soon. Good to know either way.

My daughter’s portal just changed yesterday am from awaiting review to awaiting decision… How long did people wait from awaiting decision to hearing? Does it have to go to awaiting confirmation next? If you call admissions they are pretty vague on it (mostly current students answering calla). It also seems like everyone on here got accepted so far no news of deferred to regular pool or denied…

Applied August 1st, application has said awaiting decision since early-october
