I don’t know the answer to this or to mwfan1921’s point above about WL offers vs. enrollees. It was just a one-line mention in the admitted students day speech, but it did seem that the 2 numbers were apples to apples—meaning both 100 and 200 were referring to the same thing.
No idea how many people are on the WL. Good luck to your friend!
Thanks so much! She is extemely stressed, I am so upset for her and her son (he didn’t get into any of his target schools, and Wake is his top school, and he landed on the WL). This process has been brutal for so many families.

Seems like today is a dud. Expected much more movement. Schools must be using the day to take stock of their numbers.

Case Western emailed today saying Fall 2025 spots are limited if not full, but will update again in 2 weeks. Spring 2026 and study abroad options remain open
I am also sadly hearing from a friend that Bucknell is already releasing people from the waitlist

Not a total dud. Clemson is moving as is UGA, which is accepting 300 in state students from the WL today at 4pm EST.

By “releasing” do you mean Bucknell is telling applicants that certain majors are full?
Remember that WL fill voids in the class. It could be that they need girls, not boys. Engineers but not business school students. FP vs FA. Unless someone you know if filling the exact same profile as you, their notification is unlikely to be relevant to your situation. And if the school is reaching out to tell people they are no longer going to be admitted and hasn’t contacted you, it ain’t over!

I also respect schools that cut students loose sooner rather than later when it’s clear a given app isn’t going to fill any institutional priority. Just reading the posts by waitlisted students is sad. I hope all waitlisted students are excited about the school where they paid their deposit.

Anyone has any idea when ND is releasing their WL decisions/if they’ve been already released? Also, any predictions this year abt ND?

Yes, Dean J (associate dean of admissions) posted they were makng a “small number” of waiting list offers today at 5. These are the first waiting list offers for UVA so the official date should be changed to May 2, 2025. Also more official info on Dean J instagram , also Dean J’s admission blog “Notes from Peabody.”
