Thank you for your response. I follow you on Instagram, and watch your weekly video updates. I’ve always loved how transparent you are with the process. I respect your straightforward approach. That said, I have to be honest and say that when I read this about “reconsideration,” what I immediately think is that some counselor telephoned you and advocated for a student. Can you please share with us what percentage of reconsiderations were initiated by a counselor? I’d also be interested to know what percentage involved students at private schools vs public schools. As always, your guidance is appreciated.

I saw a report about it on Tineocollege’s TikTok comments, so I reached out to someone who commented that their friend was accepted off the waitlist—they confirmed it. Of course, this is just one source, but I was wondering if anyone else has heard anything similar.

Curious if the person who came off April 16 has some extraordinary connections or pull? I have seen and heard of that happening at other schools with the official line from the admissions office being they had not yet gone to the waitlist. I have also heard of that happening when someone is offered a walk on position with a sport. Is this someone you know personally and is that a possibility? Not saying that’s the case here but curious.
UGA has gone to the waitlist a couple of times at least. They announced in March their belief that they would go to the waitlist this summer and did before the May 1 deadline. They have gone to the waitlist at least once since then.

At this point it would probably be better for me not to share too much more. She/he was a good OOS applicant who maybe should have gotten in ED. She/he did not send in any additional information or move geographies.

My stepdaughter was just offered a spot from University of South Carolina and Clemson today. So movement on their waitlists. She’s likely not accepting the spots as she’s happy with her choice to go to Georgia. We are OOS for all of these schools.
