Indeed, it feels so slow. May I ask what are the universities you are waiting on?
Slow?? Look at the list in the first post. This isnāt slow to me!! There are over 70 schools already going to their WLs and its still early May!
Were they international? If I may ask, how much aid were they offered? Are they committing?
Not international. Offered $60k in financial aid & given 48 hours to decide (Sunday-Monday). Not committing, but a tough offer to turn down. I had always heard that waitlists were need-aware at most schools, so pleasantly surprised by this.
Iām an international desperately waiting for the decisions. At this point, I just wish they tell you abruptly if they want us or not ![]()

Iām sure your son will do great wherever they end up!
Was wondering if the current political situation will lead to more international students declining offers and therefore increase the chance for international applicants to get off the waitlist?
I think, based on what has been said regarding āreconsiderations,ā that the cold hard truth is this: Certain students get preferential treatment because they have someone intervene on their behalf. School counselor, alumni, who knows? Itās discouraging to feel that there is not a level playing field, but there is not.
Congratulations! Just nice to be so wanted!
Did he write a Loci? Asking b/c my son also waitlisted there- he didnāt write LOCI
My son was offered a spot at Northwestern University (SESP) on 5/2 and a spot at Cornell (CALS) yesterday evening. Have to decide which college to commit to by this evening. We were not expecting back-to-back offers and so soon. Stay hopeful! Sending positive vibes to all of the families going through this intense college process.
He filled out the stay-on-the-waitlist form with a brief paragraph (basically saying āsince applying I was in the play & kept my grades upā). Didnāt write a separate LOCI. I think he might have chosen Colby if heād been admitted initially, but would have needed to revisit, which they didnāt give him time for.
That is mentioned/addressed in the very first post, but we cannot talk politics in this thread. That has to stay in the political forum.
My kid had a similar experience where if theyād been admitted to Colby initially we would have attended admit day and I wonder if theyād have chosen it, but the WL offer just came too late in the decision process with too little time to decide to change course.
Full pay applicant ?
Offers came with some financial aid, no merit award.
when can we expect movement on the williams waitlist?
My friendās daughter was just admitted to Vandy.
Has anyone heard anything about Dartmouth waitlist?
has anyone heard about georgetown wl or brookes cornell?
My son was accepted to UCSB off the waitlist on 4/23 (Earth Science) and UCD today 5/6 (Civil Engineering). He is in-state. Heās declining both in favor of Cal Poly SLO (Civil Eng).
Any waitlist move for WashU, Emory, and BC?
