Yes I see it now, but never noticed that before nor would I have known what it meant previously
Soā¦. with the wiki list anyone can add an update, but we wonāt know who added it or when, and wonāt be able to ask a follow-up question to the person who posted is, as happened with the UVA posts here ??
Iāll know, but you wonāt. But you can add a post to ask a follow-up
I added JMU to the wiki list this morning, on feedback from multiple counselors
Ideally, people would post in the thread about the news of a school before adding to the wiki.
So now they have to post twice instead of just posting an addition to the list here
I see what youāre saying, though re-posting the whole list involves copying and pasting as well, which has its own technical challenges (lol).
Iāll try to keep an eye on this thread to add whatever schools are posted to the main list.
Great. Thanks for the help !
And someone (DK who) added Michigan. And BC.
Is the wiki link open only to people from CC? Is there any way other than having the poster who adds to the list identify themselves on the lis to Have that available to the people reading this thread?
Good catch. Idk about BC, but I have seen nothing about anyone anywhere getting off the Michigan waitlist (yet), so I doubt that one. Iām pretty lenient when it comes to these things, but thereās just nothing out there. Maybe we delete it until someone posts? What do people think?
@skieurope since you can see who posted that (about Michigan, and maybe about BC too), can you check with them and/or ask them too post here in this thread? Honestly, this wiki thing seems to have caused more problems than it solved. IMO, if it aināt brokeā¦
Honestly, one of the things I am most interested in seeing is the date a school went to the waitlist, particularly at this juncture. By mid-May, most schools will have done so. Maybe a continuous list isnāt even necessary.
And no one is posting that⦠though when we posted here in this thread we could see when a post was made.
Wow, you think every college is going to their WLās this year?
Exactly. One of the things I find useful about old CC threads, from previous years, is to understand what happened, and when, in prior years, even if only to compare to other years or the current year, to note similarities and differences.
Yes, my guess is that most colleges went more conservative in their RD acceptances and will be topping off their class from the WL, even if itās only a few students (not suggesting anyone get their hopes up). The WL is a tool. Theyāve been burned too many times in the past with overenrollment. The enrollment management industry might have a certain level of group think (lol) in its mathematical modeling and level of risk taking, and so I think the number of schools going to the WL on the early side this year points to most everyone eventually taking a few from the WL, although not a meaningful increase in hope from a waitlisted applicantās standpoint.
Yes. You need to be a registered user
There is not.
I took it upon myself to remove Michigan and BC for the time being due to too many doubts. I hope that is ok. If not ok, I can add back, of course.
To the poster who wanted to add Michigan and Boston College, please post to the thread.
Maybe going forward, if someone has a waitlist offer they become aware of, they could put the date next to it on the list to allow for those who are interested in tracking when/how often movement occurs.
I agree with an earlier poster that it was helpful to see when schools went to the waitlist in past years not only to see when the school went to the waitlist, but also to see when the waves of acceptances occurred (ie, before 5/1, on 5/2, etcā¦).
@skieurope- just for those 2 that were added but are not confirmed, can you kindly reach out to the poster (s) to verify where they read/heard that from? Thanks!
